Welcome to Zainab Merchant's Table in Paradise where I eat with guests to try delicious foods from the world's beautiful cultures.
Today, Wafa and I check out Roses Halal Kitchen in Toronto for some tasty Caribbean fare and popular Jamaican eats including Oxtail, Beef Patties, Curry Goat and Jerk Chicken as we talk about Burgundy Roots and living the good life. Check her out at burgundyroots.com or find her on Instagram as @wafa.salam.kensho.
A note to viewers: None of the food was sponsored, Table in Paradise likes to support its local restaurants and food chains.

Enjoyed the conversation....Wafa is very knowledgeable about " Jamaica/Yard. " Not surprise she was impressed with the people on her first visit....Jamaica's flagship ambassadors: music, food, athletics & the people. That drink " ting " is an award winning ( 1970's European )gold medalist beverge made of grapefruit. As a Jamaican in the US diaspora, I do experience & believe, Jamaica's biggest tourists advocacy is word-of -mouth; not unlike this episode. Readers & viewers do yourself a favor and visit the PROMISED LAND; JAMAICA 🇯🇲 🇯🇲 🇯🇲

This video started playing "incidentally." My KZfaq was on auto play but when the video started I just decided not to stop it. I was glad I made that decision. This is the first extensively intelligent muckbang I've seen to date... and I have been watching KZfaq for a veeeeery long time. Algeria just lost a daughter. Welcome to Jamaica. If I should chime in on the reason to move in from the "waterfront" when you visit Jamaica... it's to curtail things like a point I heard about marijuana. Explore the country as much as possible. Tourists will discover that most Jamaicans do not smoke. People are given the impression that Jamaica is full of smokers and are all high on marijuana (weed). That's media propaganda and information from people who have just been to the waterfront... if you know what I mean. The whole rest of the country is beyond the sea. I'd never seen so much smoking until I travelled. I won't call any names so you're opened to guessing. It was overwhelming for me. There is also a difference with smokers in Jamaica and elsewhere. Jamaicans are mindful of other people's personal space when they decide to smoke. They will apologise to you, move away and or put their "joint" out if they realize they are in the presence of a nonsmoker. Not the same in other places. This was a delightful video. Thank you.

Africans introduced spices to India. In Jamaica our Motto is "Out of Many One People" hence the mixtures. Our forefathers took with them these spices and exotic foods to the Caribbean. We cook with love and soul, that's why our food is really enjoyable.

Great history! I went to high school in Jamaica, and the Tanio Indians taught the Blacks how to preserve and jerk meat! Good job. You are very accurate.

I’m mixed 🧕🏽🇨🇦🇯🇲🇬🇾❤️ First time seeing a South Asian?/indo Caribbean? Muslim eating our food I’m surprised! Also there’s Muslims all over the Caribbean (Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica, etc) and there’s different races in the Caribbean (Native, Black, Indian, Chinese, mixed race, etc)
