Musings from a Bond fan about Bond in 2023 and what we can expect is the focus of this video. As I drive around the countryside in my Aston Martin I discuss my 007 focus for the year, and it may not be what you expect. Appreciating the smaller moments and what we have in hand seems to be the call for the day! Along the journey I pitch a few specific ideas that might give us the ability to celebrate our favorite franchise TOGETHER and even dare to discuss BOND 26th! This no holes barred discussion will either take you for a ride, or make you feel DRIVEN!

I've been luckily enough to travel to Europe a few times throughout my 20's and early 30's. Packed with Hostels, or cheap hotels and partying with strangers and hopping from country to country every 4 days or so. Now I'm in my mid 30's and this year I'd like to take my girlfriend back and try a slower more mindful approach. I'm thinking southern France or northern Italy. Get a nice place, with a nice view, and really immerse myself in the culture as opposed to packing as much sights, food and booze as I can into each town and moving on. Also this year may be the year I try golf. Maybe its time.

Here's my list of Bond moments in the plan for 2023 : 1) New car delivery (sadly not an Aston) with addition of a Bond themed licence plate 2) In March, Skyfall in Concert in Montreal 3) Also in March, trip to the Dominican Republic, with Bond style vacation clothing (Mostly Thunderball inspired) 4) Return to work at customer offices, creating invisible Bond moments in clothing, watch, car and gadgets . 5) In the summer, car trip to Saratoga, for Bond in Motion. Bucket list: - Return to London - Participate at a Gatherall event to meet other members of Bond community (hopefully get a picture with Mr. Zaritsky) - Improve my Instagram participation with regular Bond related posts Meanwhile, I will continue to follow social media Bond content creator

I can't believe Bond in Motion setup in Saratoga. I used to live up there for years, but now I'm back out west. I would have been there in a heartbeat. I love the locations idea. Maybe having everyone sending you or someone in the community clips of themselves at a certain location. I will even volunteer to edit the clips and help put a full video together.

My suggestion is to do a video/zoom on a regular basis with different members of the community. Randomly pick one of us and do a stream talking about our own Bond experience with you. Example: me personally have a large poster collection, I own a Omega, blue Z3, my last two cats were named Moneypenny & Goldfinger, in the 60’s I recorded the sound of every Connery movie at the drive-in, I owned 9 movies on 16mm film, met Roger Moore and Desmond Llewelyn, and on and on. All of us, men, women, rich, poor, have our own story to tell on how Bond has been part of our life’s. I would watch every episode.

David, this might be one of my all time favorite videos you have created. It's your authenticity which shines through and inspired me to also smell the roses. While I continue to build my Bond collection, I have been gathering items to enjoy them, not just have them...and I appreciate that you feel the same...it makes life living by enjoying the people and experiences in your life. I’m looking forward to to meet the friends of the James Bond Clubs from England, France and Switzerland together with our German club at the Bond in motion exhibition. Plus I’m going to travel to Corfu for some in-depth location hunting. That plus celebrating the 70 years of Bond novels by reading them.

Since there are no films in the very near future, I think an emphasis on also celebrating the novels is a great idea. Both the books Diamonds are Forever and The Spy Who Loved me took place in upstate New York, so expanding The Bond in Motion in Saratoga to a larger Upstate NY weekend sounds epic! Also, several novels and one film take place in NYC, I once had the idea of following a tour of the short story "James Bond in New York", meeting at the Central Park Zoo, having drinks at the The St. Regis, lunch at the Oyster Bar in GCT and a short tour of some of the film locations. In spring or summer this would be amazing. I tried doing this before but I got to do some of it twice, once with Bond buddy Stanley Tatum and once with Jason Kim, both great fellas! 007♥NY

i agree - this channel could and should more focus on the novels and on otherl spy films, the level of attraction for this channel is defnitely going down for me

@@YOLOMarkus Hmmm, I didn't mean it as a criticism, just that there are no Bond films coming out soon. This is a James Bond specific lifestyle channel, clothes, cocktails, travel etc. on that David delivers in spades and can still surprise me from time to time. Try the Spy Hards channel, I think they have more of what you're looking for.

Yeah Lazenby looks pretty good in that cameo. I like how they refer to him a JB for legal reasons. Its on the car number plate too as i recall.

David. I would like to see a (fan) Bond movie with yourself, Joe Darlington, Calvin Dyson etc. You as Bond, Joe as the villain, Calvin as Q or M...that would be fun. For myself in 2023, I look forward to buying a new house (hopefully) and to get my Mental Health back on track.

I’ve been looking forward to watching the series of Bond debates/discussions between David and Calvin as well as any content with the panel of David, Joe, and Kyle. Also, playing the new release of Goldeneye 007 on Xbox and as always rewatching the films (maybe with a commentary track on).

I love those discussions more than any other Bond content on KZfaq now, which is bizarre because initially i didn't like David or Calvin, funny how things change. Those two along with Jeroen are my favourites.

Great Video...more of these please. Beautiful car! I will go on vacation with either one of my friends or with mutiple friends. Don't know the location yet ( maybe somewhere in Italy) but it will be great. Also im planning to get together with my crush and hope that works out but if not i wont be sad and rather work on myself ( currently hitting the Gym hard). Also will go to a casting for a Filmacademy at the end of the year.

I call this the "quiet period", so going back to reading he novels, listening to them on audible as voiced by famous English actors, brushing up on some podcasts, re-watching the movies, getting back to basics on what makes me love the Bond universe.

David excellent video. Perhaps a great way to pay. Homage to Bond is to look at some of the imitators. Specifically I would recommend Agent OSS 117: Cairo Nest of Spies and it’s sequel. Both pay great homage to the bond films of the early 60s and 70s. Both starred Jean Dujardin.

As someone lucky enough to go to Secret Cinema : Casino Royale, I would love to see a paired down "Secret Agent" experience. They had a place the size of Ikea but, if you eliminate the club/theater, the action was in a relatively contained area. The biggest expense wouldn't even be the sets - it would be the actors. If someone was say, president of a marketing agency, they might have some ideas or connections that could plant a seed. Just thinking out loud. 😎

Interesting video David........ but this year is the 70th anniversary of the release of the first Fleming book..... Casino Royale......and I believe that the Fleming estate is doing something in April 2023.... Also a name for the next Bond film..... OHMSS..... On His Majesties Secret Service.....different story but similar name!!!! Or even OHMSS II...again different story but an interesting title!!! Of all the possible movie titles for the next Bond installment, OHMSS is by far and away my favorite. Bond's driving force, among others, seem to be an unwavering devotion to now King and Country! As an orphan, the country he loves is all he has to embrace. After watching Becoming Bond on Hulu, how cool it would be to have George Lazenby in a cameo role.

Going to likely watch Indiana Jones 5, not a Bond movie, but at least Sean Connery is Indiana Jones' dad and Indy wore a Bond-esque tux in Temple of Doom.

Similar to Connery's tux in the opening of Goldfinger. Really enjoyed growing up with the James Bond and Indiana Jones movies. The two franchises created enjoyment and imagination in the minds of many. The ending of The Last Crusade riding off into the sunset was very befitting for Connery's role as Indy's father. Harrison Ford portraying Indiana Jones instead of Tom Selleck really proves the importance of a movie's main actor. Selleck did well in Magnum P.I. (grateful for his contract with the show) but I just can't see him having the same humor as Ford which made the series fun and entertaining.

Canada is not really popular for Bond locations but I'm obsessed about the route that Bond took from Montréal to Ottawa in Fleming’s short story For your eyes only. I don’t make long videos but I want to make a special one about that subject this year. :)

I guess this year I’m going to watch all the movies again, in order, with my newly minted spouse. She’s seen a couple and “gets” my interest but I think the total immersion will cement her in the top ranks of fandom. That and buy a DB9. This is the year.

"Always" once included they would always not have an American director. Back in the day, United Artists were keen on American Phil Karlson to direct Dr. No. But his asking price (about $75,000) was deemed too expensive. Terence Young (whose asking price was about $40,000) got the job. American Cary Fukunaga got the job for No Time to Die.

I’d like to create a Bond Oscar’s. Have most of the academy awards categories, but with bond films. The community can vote on each category and then presented via livestream.

It could be people's favorite movies in the series, soundtrack cues, songs, stunts, gadgets, performers, or just a grab bag of what makes a person a Bond fan at all. My interest is in the community both consumers and content producers and their thoughts on both the past and the present. Since both are worldwide, why not a multi-day virtual conference sponsored by several of the producers - writers, blog and KZfaq producers and, perhaps, some folks from EON? A virtual Bond gathering would have to include venues tied to both the books and the movies. Just as the Scots celebrate Robert Burns’ birthday, why not Time the event to Fleming’s 115th birthday in May?

Being a writer, and inspired by Calvin Dyson’s “Could/Would/Should Pierce Brosnan Return to James Bond?” video from last autumn, I’m working a Bond homage as a novella or novel based on the premise of a belated fifth Brosnan Bond outing. And your sartorial videos are playing a role in deciding what my character will be wearing, from watches to suits.

In 2023, I'm looking forward to: visiting OHMSS filming locations in Portugal (May), visiting Dr. No and Live and Let Die filming locations in Jamaica (November), reading "Goldfinger," (to complete all the Fleming novels) and hosting the big Henry Cavill post-reveal party (???). I also wonder how much the ‘timing’ of the next movie is decided by the availability of Pinewood - apparently, if you have $200M burning a hole in your back pocket, you can’t get in there until 2025!!! Hence the massive expansion of studios around London at the moment.

You might not like it but eventually you will. I think we all need a break of James Bond and hope the next bond movie only appears in 4 years time. I know it’s a long time but often that’s how the best bonds were created. Good things sometimes take time… another movie quote, not bond. It doesn’t mean we need to skip bond from our lives but because of the last movie, it is time to take a serious break and hope for a Goldeneye type of revelation.
