it’s not called “baloney” 😭 bolognese is an Italian dish that’s basically pasta with a meaty sauce and it’s pronounced bow-luh -nays

With that extra e at the end, I thought it would follow Italian pronunciation, like "boh loh neh seh".

Yeah he's probably thinking of bologna sausage, which is a derivative of mortadella bologna. I understand the confusion though

@@TomEyeTheSFMguycorrect Italian pronunciation is “bo-lo-nyeh-zeh.” The “gn” combo in Italian is very similar to the Spanish ñ, so you get words like gnocchi (“nyok-kee”) or the city of Bologna (“bo-lo-nya”). The ending of bolognese sounds more like an English “z” than an English “s,” but either way is close enough.

"I'm wearing a suit because it makes me feel better about myself." That line just moves me. Sometimes I worry that I can't fix some of my problems, even if they're minor, but characters like Richie are so inspirational. He drives me to be a better me

you wanna know how the bear is so great? when a show can make you tense and on the edge of your seat over if a balloon is gonna pop you know this series is something special.

I was in Stockholm about a year ago and NO ONE talked to me. It was a beautiuful city but if you're on a solo trip it can feel a bit isolating lol. I think the people there are more content and don't feel the need to talk to random people if they don't have to. I should mention everyone who had to converse with me so I could order food or something were very nice as long as you're not looking for a smile lol. Americans think everyone is rude if they don't say everything with a giant smile on their face.

Something about the thing that was keeping them from passing inspection was Mikey... 1st season was Carmy trying to bulldoze The Beef and his relationship with Mikey. Now he's starting to see what Mikey did right. The applicant failing Richie's napkin test is symbolic. The Beef was made up folks who didn't have the resume that supports their passion to learn cuisine. Now they're getting the opportunity and you meet them where they are. No one is disposable.

Speaking as a Norwegian, scandinavians do about as much small-talk as anyone else with people we know. We might seem closed off to people we don't know, but once we make contact and feel comfortable with you (which won't take long), we'll basically treat you as family

Spealing of "The Bear", you should watch the movie "The Bear" 1988, no CGI, just a baby bear, that film is a wonder (and the french and european success of 1988) 😀Don't worry about the langage, the movie was shot in english (very few sentences in the movie actually, it is shot from the baby bear point of view).

11:30 Denmark, Sweden, and Norway (and to some degree, Finland) are quite similar culturally, so yeah we do not engage in a lot of small talk in Denmark lol

Lol. It’s “bo-lo-nyeh-zeh,” or in Italian-American households you’ll often hear “bo-lo-nyayz” without that final vowel. I know bologna can be pronounced “baloney” in English, but for the record the Italian city is “bo-lo-nya.”
