Slight correction: ゴゴゴ (Go go go) is an onomatopoeia for a rumbling sound, hence why it appears in many anime and Manga. Rumbling does set up a sort of "menacing" atmosphere, which is why it's used and often translated as "menacing" in English
@beelzemobabbity
@beelzemobabbity Жыл бұрын
A lot of manga do stuff like that for translation. Even more so with scantalations where they tend to just put what the sound is. Like instead of a door “creak”ing, its just “door opening”

Fun Fact: Gon was in a difficult fight he couldn't win, against a very strong opponent. In order to win he basically unlocked all of the potential he was going to achieve naturally, through years of training and lived experiences, in one go, adding those to himself. So the hair aren't long for the sake of a cool design choice, that's literally all the growth those hair would've had going from kid Gon to adult Gon, without being cut.

I'm late to the party, but I have an unusually high number of tidbits to mention: 2:12 Check out e.e. cummings. For example, "l(a", without the quotes. 4:00 This is present in western culture. See, for example, the Christian Bible talking about a baby in "swaddling clothes." 4:42 Here in Mexico, the garbage trucks make all sorts of horrible noises, such as whistles, horns, yelling, banging on pots, and banging on the truck. And in Mexico City, scrap metal buyers roam the streets looping the same recording of a child offering to buy various household items such as refrigerators or bed frames. There are videos on KZfaq. So... just some random facts related to the things you said.
