Guess what your video did to me. I paused your video for 5 mins and made myself two cauliflower (that was the only stuffing at home) sandwiches generously loaded with butter and tabasco sauce. And then enjoyed watching the rest of video while I gorged on my sandwiches. Thanks John, great dinner idea! :))

@@End3rWi99in Until you taste it... Honestly, in Japan I learned the art of "Less is more". There are fewer ingredients put between the bread-it's basic bread...but each ingredient speaks so beautifully by itself-you don't want to over-complicate it with sauces and extra toppings. So the fruit and cream sandwich (oh my word): The kiwi, strawberry, mango...were all EXAMPLES of how that food should taste. No under-ripe strawberries...no browned lettuce. Each element is perfect in and of itself. If you doubt me, go to Japan and see what I mean-you'll thank me.

@@movedchannels1654 On the west coast you have excellent food in itself. Each culture has something awesome to offer, and yet, something so repulsive as well, japan is no exception. I admire Japanese cuisine and many aspects of their culture, but like many are far from perfect. Likewise you can find awesome healthy food in the US, although that is mostly limited to the west coast. "Slapping fat on food" is something the US doesn't do, it is more like "lets make food resemble polymers more than food, then pay off the FDA, while undermining the local farmers and centralizing nourishments under our monopoly by lobbying to create laws that unfairly hurt small agriculture".

In America, the convenience store sandwich is something to be feared! More likely to make you sick than think was delicious. In Japan, the sandwich as reached culinary heights. You might think "Oh it's just a sandwich, I'll make one at home" but you can't. You just can't replicate these sandwiches at home. Something about the soft Japanese milk bread and the flavor of Japanese Mayo with its rice vinegar creates a unique tanginess. Even something as simple as a ham and cheese has a whole new dimension. Keep in mind, the sandwiches shown in this video are all from a lot of more specialty shops. Specialty shops might have a wider variety of options, but honestly the main reason they're more expensive is the novelty of it and the fact that they're often placed in train stations, where other food options may not be available (especially stations for bullet trains. Think about it like how airports and amusement parks will have overpriced food because your options are limited to whatever's on the premises). They make for really nice videos like these, by all means, and I have no doubt that they are better quality; however, they aren't necessarily always worth it. On the other hand, I usually went to a convenience store for any of my sandwich needs ;) It's probably changed a bit since it's been a few years, but an egg, tuna or fruit sandwich was usually 100 to 120 yen, a pork cutlet sandwich might be more like 200 yen, while special sandwiches would be upward towards 300-400 yen (ie: while I was there Gudetama was still a big thing, so a pork cutlet sandwich with a soft boiled egg on top with Gudetama on the wrapper was available for 350 yen). Plus, while they may not be as fresh as the specialty shop sandwiches (which were probably made within a few hours of being sold), they're still pretty fresh because of certain laws regarding food sales in Japan. It made for a pretty filling lunch!

Oh no! D: Thankfully yen tends to ride particularly close to USD a lot of the time. I think the conversion right now is 90 yen to a dollar, which is pretty close to where it was while I was there (which was 88 yen, if I remember right). Maybe the prices have gone up since I was there, but it was definitely a rarity if I ever spent more than 150 yen on my lunch on a given day ^^" I'd usually get a sandwich or onigiri, and they were typically around the prices I listed above.

High class, English-like accent by Peter makes this video turn it into one totally different approach that not only makes one hungry but feel totally in a different level of classiness...such elegance! liseg89 liseg89 funny, because I’ve lived in London for the majority of my life (and still do) and I happen to date a finance executive who is a typical old public school boy (with the typical proper queens English accent/ upper class accent). You don’t know what you’re talking about. The accent is a poor attempt at an upper class English accent, but nevertheless is a posh accent.

@@mehreenmirza100 It's more of a general thing. Japanese tend to say things that they don't mean, or they hide their real standpoints for the sake of "not causing trouble". I also count racism in this category of "insincerity". They smile at you and wave, thinking what an uneducated disgusting pig you are. You know, obviously not all Japanese are like this, it's a minority, but if you ever worked as a foreigner in Japan, you would know what I'm talking about. It's a thing.

@@EvanHT Don't sugar coat Japan's situation. I've been there and it is a lovely country and i would love to comeback. But we cannot close our eyes when it comes to their issues. "Happy everyday" is not entirely true, they still have suicide rate issues (now also with youth), the rising number of hikikomori ect. They have high rates of education because they are expected to go beyond (this is generally a common issue in Asia). I am an Asian myself, South-East to be specific, and slowly our education system here is adopting the system of Japan or S.Korean, where students will go to school early morning, and go home later at late evening (even at night) thus creating more stress and pressure for the students

How to charm your viewers? First, Find a person with a silky smooth talk like Peter. Second, Find a theme whether will grab your target audience's attention or their tummies. Third, upload the video to the main channel on KZfaq. Fourth, Let the viewer get hungry while John is presenting the sandwiches like a professional. Fifth and last, Stay calm and take a depth breath. Prepare yourself to be seduced by the sound of Peter's voice talking about how beautiful, marvelous and delicious are the sandwiches.

Let me fix that for you.. First, find someone who strains their voice to obtain that cheesy "movie voice" that is so commonly considered to be cheap (because it's not the persons natural voice and they refuse to stick to their own vocal range) Second, find some free music, slap it on the video, even if it doesn't fit. After all, these are sandwiches, copyright free classical is 'perfect' for it. Third, Don't spell Kiwi Properly, call it a KiKi instead. Fourth, Show the sandwiches from only one real angle. They're just sandwiches. Fifth, and last, write some horribly cringy scripting, which tries to play off the cheesy, forced movie voice of the guy you convinced to narrate. He doesn't realize how cringy he sounds, anyway, so it's a match made in heaven. Bonus Sixth.. Don't worry about people calling you out for the cliche and cheap writing, narration, and music, because fanboys will instantly attack anyone who criticizes you.
