Whoever sent this package, thank you so much! You picked the best things and most importantly represents what Indonesian is having everyday! I rarely watch Indonesian taste test that really screams Indonesian because people tend to send weird stuff that no one (or at least people around me) buy and eat. The Pipiltin chocolates, even though they're pretty hard to get, but is well known. Great job, really glad Shinichi and Satoshi are loving most of them 🙌🏼✨ Also, I wonder if you guys are able to compare the spiciness level of Maicih chips with any spicy things in Japan? The level 10 is what I usually have (lol no joke) and the only thing I was able to get in Tokyo is a spicy potato chips in black package with big chili picture and fire on it (got it at Donki btw) and it wasn't that spicy.

Usually spicy in Japan isn't that spicy. However these days it's a bit different. Try going to Coco Curry next time and try the level 10!

ahahaha you're welcome, I was going to give them some Coklat Monggo but i can't find them :( that one have the chili chocolate that i want them to try actually :P by the way i bought a 1000yen instant ramen with black label and a crossed '18' for the name, i saw it on tabi eat's channel and i swore to myself to buy it, haven't tried it yet, but the seller said it's spicier than the one shinichi and satoshi ate (I assumed, from his body gesture) gonna try it soon :3

fyi, tempe is fermented by fungus, not bacteria. You should try fresh and cooked tempe. you can marinate fresh tempe with salt 'n pepper and crushed garlic then deep fried it until brown, eat with steamed hot rice and dipped in that marvelous sambal or mixed bite size fresh tempe with stir fried vegetable.

yes it's 'fungus' not 'bacteria'. sometimes people confusing these two. 'jamur' sama 'bakteri' beda coy.

maybe what they mean are microbe, not bacteria. tempeh use very similar microbe that is used in tofu, one of japan most eaten food.
@ubanish
@ubanish 7 жыл бұрын
Shadow Amigo making tofu not using any microbes, though Japanese using alot of "koji" (i think it's a type of fungus too) to make their soy sauce, miso paste and sake
@shadowamigo9506
@shadowamigo9506 7 жыл бұрын
Fermentation is the enzymatic decomposition and utililization of foodstuffs, particularly carbohydrates, by microbes. (source: www.vivo.colostate.edu). fungus act as the source of microbes that turn soybean into tofu. Fermentation is a work of microbes, you cant ferment something without microbes. The source of microbe can be anything, human saliva even used when making a few type of sake (beer).

Tempe is not made of bacteria. It's actually fungi. Basically, the soybeans are packed and the fungi grows in the spaces between the beans. Unlike natto, tempe is a solid block. Another thing to note, in Indonesian, the letter "C" is pronounced like in Japanese ち. It's almost the same sound.

Terasi (Indonesian) or Belacan (Malaysian) is a chili with shrimp paste condiment usually used for variety of meals or snacks. You guys can dip some chips in it or eat it with donburi or frieds, karage, tempura or anything (i usually put terasi in everything). What you guys ate is well known Indonesian brand called ABC. Their Terasi product is not really spicy, since they wanted to reach as many as market segment they can. Real Terasi is a delicacy, kinda difficult to find a good one. So ABC is toning down their Terasi version with cheaper price and easy to get. But i love their condiment products!

Agreed with Aqilla. And that sambal terasi tho', i usually mixed it with fried rice too, or noodle/ramen and also for a fries meals dipping such fried tofu and tempe or even fried chicken, or as simple as white rice + sunny side up will be GREAT with that sambal terasi. The Pipiltin Chocolate is available in Jakarta only so far, they do really have the best Choco products. I like their Sea Salt chocolate bar and Almond Nuts. sambal terasi is not spicy, because it got mixed with terasi paste. Terasi is like shrimp ( or fish) flavoured paste made by fermetation process. That is why the sambal have kinda fishy flavour to it.

Tempeh is dry and not sticky. In Morocco we had many large bags of crisps that were fried at home and they were so yummy! Would sit out in the dark on the porch and eat home-fried crispy things. Oh how I love your coffee cups! What the chocolate melt in your mouth and go down your throat and you will be in heaven. Chocolate also has red undertones. Not bad isn't exactly a ringing endorsement shinichi. Satoshi's favorite is what many vegans would eat.

I really like both of you and enjoy watching you all. because of you I have gone into a China Town Store in Oklahoma and found the (Nato) and also white rice and soups and adding fish to try to eat better for high colestrol. So I even found a tea for it. I love that when eating I feel full but bit stuffed and yet don't crave food for several hours. when I went into the market they also have coffee and I would like to know which id a good coffee but little to medium taest and what would be a good brand. I would also like to know more about the fruit . and seaweed what would be the test and how to cook and make it taste good. I did notice that before you eat you say something in your language and what it means. with Great Respect, and enjoy your shows, Sandra
