“British” Canadians can’t drink, I’ve been there..

@@VictorLugosi Lol, not in comparison to Brits! I moved to the UK over 5 years ago and I remember coming in with the attitude of, "ha, now I get to show these islanders how to really drink!" Long story short ... they needed no help and I was put in my place. That's not to say that we Canucks don't know how, but we're certainly not on the same level. In Toronto, at least, we definitely drink on Friday and Saturday. BBQs, weekend getaways, on the beach, we're not without our booze. Perhaps even after work during the week we'll sneak in a beer. Maybe two. This is all entry level compared to Britain, lol. In my first month of work I found out any time is a good time for a pint. Out for lunch with the colleagues? Well, that's a pint! After work with the boss? There's no way you're walking out without at least 2. If the boss isn't there, you're looking at 3-5. Basically, any day and any occassion is the perfect time for a pint. In Canada, you would never roll in to work hungover and have a conversation with your boss about said hangover. You would regret your choices, soldier through, and avoid any mention of alcohol. In the UK, not only will your boss not judge you for drinking the previous night, they'll probably counter with a recent night out of their own. Fine, most of the popular draught beers you find in pubs are in the 3-4.5% range ... but that still adds up after 4+. With most pubs shutting around 10pm, as well, that's a lot of booze in a short amount of time. TLDR: Brits can and do drink! A lot! It's not a sport. It's not a rite of passage or a boast. It's just a thing that is done. And who can blame them? Once you've grown accustomed to the welcoming coziness of a good pub, it's hard to go back to social life prior.

It's a newfy thing to do.

Tyrell Patrick ya totally, what they picked is wildly available country wide which is why I think it’s a good representation. Rather then say the Pineapple Crush you can only really get in Newfoundland.

Other than the beer I think the rest can easily be found all across Canada. As a Quebecoise I've had pretty much every snack in this video several times and see them all the time, with exception of the Thrills and ginger ale (because I don't like them) and the beer.

it is very nice to see a canadian snacks video that features them. i don't know why, but most of the canadian snack trying videos i've seen don't feature them.

as someone from nanaimo, i can confirm this. very delicious, especially if you put some nice crispy bacon bits into the chocolate layer. there is a local restaurant that makes their own and does that. very, very good.

I’ve never had the Lays ketchup chips. I always buy the Old Dutch brand.

Every so often I can find a couple things in a dollar store here in Ohio, it's great. Not counting the Canada Dry because it's everywhere, but since I'm this close to Detroit, I just go straight for the Vernors 😂

We use to have time out bars here in canada but they got rid of them here sometime in the early 2000s.

Wagon wheels are the same all over though they are not what they used to be.

I always love videos like these because people who didn’t grow up with these snacks always notice different things who knew that there were walnuts in the maple cookies the entire time! all I taste when I eat them is nostalgia

As a Brit, we call them Wagon Wheels. Scooter pies just sounds like a scooter the shape of a pie. lol I thought they were called moon pies over in the US?

Some places here in New England carry it, too. It's amazing stuff.
