I'm honestly not a fan, they completely messed with cannon to make it happen. Firstly Radovid is 12 in the books, secondly Jaskier is straight in the source material. My problem isn't with him being bi (idc about that). My problem is how much they changed cannon for it.

@@mirkoblaco812 Yeah I've not read the books yet, so I can appreciate it entirely at face value in the show. I have heard they just took Radovid's name from the king's son and invented him a brother for no apparent reason. I'm sure it will annoy me after I've read the books, but for now I am in ignorant bliss just enjoying Joey Batey's acting. Hahha

The thing is, he absolutely will follow Geralt, Yennifer and/or Ciri into situations despite being afraid, non-magical and, with regards to fighting prowess at least, less well equipped to deal with the dangers they face. In fact, it genuinely hurts his feelings when he's left behind (something Geralt is finally noticing in S3). When he is mixed up in a dire situation, he does what he can to protect those around him, either pulling them out of harms way or putting himself between them and the enemy. To me, makes him braver and far more heroic than he realises.

You know thats not really an achievement... since literally every character in netflix series breaks out of the mold and becomes something else then their real character. I would be honestly surprised if there was a netflix character that behaves like its character. That would be a true rarity.

Jaskier(dandelion) was someone that already represented a group of under represented people, the men who are comfortable being themselves and not adhering to male toxic masculinity tropes. (while still believe it or not, NOT being gay). According to netflix if youre flamboyant you must be at least bi? GTFO of here. They had a character that was representable to a large majority of people who are underrepresented, and basically spat in their faces. They just pushed the agenda that if youre not MALE ENERGY af you must like men. It's actually pretty fucked when you think about it. And for the record i am team lgbtq all the way, but there are other people in the world that need representation too, and Jaskiers character WAS that character. Up until season 3.

Man, I know WE all knew it, and it WASN'T subtle, but God, it's still nice to be vindicated. 😂

I think flamboyant but straight men are just as valid, but Bi characters existing or a character being interpreted as Bi doesn't take away from them in the slightest. There are still /plenty/ of straight but effemenite men in media, and one could still assume that other depictions of Dandelion may still fall into that category.

No. The show broke cannon there. Though I don't think he is in the show either, I think it's a case of both him and Radovid (Who is cannonically way younger) doing it to spy/gain useful info/advantages.

The show survived for 15 years because of the "subtext" Dean/Cas shippers and Sam/Dean shippers. In the end it turned out Cas was in love with Dean, it wasn't just friendship.

Jaskier and Geralt have a strong, emotional male friendship in this very show. Why is that suddenly invalidated by the fact that Jaskier has a boyfriend? Are Ciri's relationships with female characters not real bonds because she's bi? I'm hella confused rn

And you aren't making any subtextual inferences that he fosters romantic feelings for Geralt rather then it being an emotional platonic example for men?
