@@alexjmurphy2145 not my logic at all soft 💩. Keane was a huge reason Utd was so successful. Just look at the 97-98 season to 98-99 season. Keane performance against Juventus was outstanding, despite not being able to play in the final. He was a winner. His team mates at Utd had him on a pedestal and for good reason. Even worse, they had to slot Ian Harte at centre cause Steve Staunton was exhausted in the Spanish game and Harte missed a penalty in full time that would've sent Ireland through to the quarter finals. To Ireland's credit though, they 100% deserved to beat Spain on the day. Between Roy keane walking, mcateer hiding his injury, Robbie Keane playing the best football of his life, the japan/Korea world cup was nuts! Especially the blatant match fixing, Spain got absolutely fucked in their next game with 2 disallowed goals

Honestly . I could not watch Liverpool when McAteer joined Liverpool . He played for Bolton and he was nothing more than a headless chicken . He had an engine but if he didn’t he would never have made it anyway because he was a very limited footballer . He just seemed to run and run … with zero end product . I went off Liverpool around the spice boy era -- 1996 ish ❤

Jase achieved more than he was ever entitled to given his relatively (compared to Keano) limited gifts so he retired a very happy guy. And he didn't piss away his fortune like plenty of others do.
