What it do Dream Team!? It's ya boy D.Neal back with another reaction video! Guys omgsh you gave me the toughest video I think I have ever watched! This video brought out all kind of emotions because unfortunately this type of stuff happens everyday! I just hate that Adults would beat a kid who is defenseless and depends on you and is scared of you. This really gets under my skin and guys I just hope if you guys see this type of stuff happening to anyone that you don't just let it go. You tell the police or someone that can do something about it! I just despise seeing this. But if you guys have a favorite artist or favorite song that you would like to hear me react to please don't hesitate to drop it in the comment section below!
I do NOT own the copyrights to this music so please go and check out the original video in the link below!
• "ALYSSA LIES" The Ori...
Also make sure you go and follow me on social media, engage with ya boy, and keep me posted on new music being released!

Carroll took two years to write "Alyssa Lies." The song was so emotionally painful to write that he got migraines while writing. It is based on a true story of a girl that wasn't saved in time. It seemed to Carroll that no matter what he wrote, he would never be satisfied with it. When he realized that he would not be able to make the song perfect, he tried the best he could to make it realistic and sufficiently emotional. After three years, he felt it was as heartfelt as he could make it, and recorded the song.

Man, this is why I (as a German guy) love US country music. On the one hand it's able to make me feel good and snap my fingers and on the other hand it's able to bring tears to my eyes like no other music genre out there. Please, if you find the time, do Martina McBride's "Concrete Angel". Another tearjerker but you'll probably like the ending a little bit more. Edit: Just seen you already did it :-)

I does not matter how many times I listen to this song, I cry without fail. This song really strikes a cord with me. I was a victim of child abuse from my earliest memories to the time I turned 14. The line "Because there was nothing anyone would do" kills me every single time, because it was true with me. No onw would help, it didnt matter that I went to school with bruises everyday, or flinched every time someone lifted their hands. No one cared, I ended up calling the police on my mother when I turned 8yrs old and then I finally got help, from the cops. I ended up in foster care where I was abused by my foster parent for the next six year. I told people, called cps, told my therapist, teaches, friends, social worker. Yet once again no one did a thing, until I called the cops on him and guess what, I finally got help. Whenever I listen to this song I always think that could have been me, it would have been me if I hadn't found the courage to fight for my life and call the police....both times. I had to save myself or I would have ended up like her....dead.

@@dreamteamneal I'm a survivor of abuse too my stepfather (although he was never that, he was never married to my Mother) would *Psyically and Emotionally* abuse me almost every day from when I was like 5 to when I was about 18 or 19 when we finally got away from him and when I was 13 he molested me once~!🥺 But often times CoAs feel like they need to lie cause they're scared of the consequences if they don't because they are told things like "If you ever tell anyone about this I'll kill you or your Mom" and often times it ends up costing their life ANYWAY~!😥 That's why I kept my psyical, emotional and sexual abuse a secret and lied cause I was afraid of what he'd do~!😓

The girl in the long sleeve was not abused. I have seen that her best friend when she was little was in the position of Alyssa. The crew was not aware of her story and found out after the shoot...

@@dragonstorm0316 No I think she was. On another video the girl who played the friend in the video commented on the post and said when that scene happened in the real classroom (which it was an actual classroom for the video) she went out to comfort her because none of them knew her story and she broke down. That's why the teacher did actually go out there too. Because none of them knew.

@@amymbeauty8765 Whether she was the victim or the friend, I think we can both agree that that was one of, if not, the most impactful scene in the entire video. I hate admitting that I actually blanked this song from the musical rolodex in my head. I was easier for me to listen to The Little Girl, Dear Mr. Jesus, or, even, Concrete Angel. As a 49 year old survivor of child abuse, at the hands of my mother, her second husband, and others who came through our lives, it became far too easy to lie. I lied for years telling everyone, including myself I was fine, even as I destroyed what was left of my younger years with drugs, alcohol, and sexual acting out (today those would have thrown up HUGE red flags). I eventually got help for my self destruction (two trips inpatient+ more outside)But it took watching my baby sister and younger brother losing their battles with their demons from the same environment for me to finally let go of the anger and shame and forgive my mother, who was also an abuse victim herself, as well as her own self destruction. 3years ago this week I buried my little sister, and in December it will be 3 years since I buried my younger brother. Today was the first time since the year it was released that I have actually listened to this song since the year it was released. This song hurts on a far different level.

The first time I heard this song it reminded me of the 1987 song Luka by Suzanne Vega. Some people don’t want to hear songs like this but I believe that when an artist writes a song about such a painful subject it brings light to the issue and puts it in people’s consciousness. I felt the same way when Aerosmith released Janie’s Got a Gun. Beyond the power of the song or it’s riveting video, Steven Tyler created the Janie’s Fund charity which provides aid to girls who’ve suffered trauma and/or neglect. JMC’s video for Alyssa Lies is being played in classrooms to teach children that it’s okay to come forward and these songs keep getting discovered by younger viewers/listeners which I am thankful for because it is still happening. Yet, as a father of two young boys, I can’t imagine how a parent could ever harm their child. Thanks for reacting to this one D. Neal.

I love Luka. And God Bless The Child by Shania Twain. And Hell Is For Children by Pat Benatar. Songs like these help bring light to a dark situation that far too many children face alone (and one child is too many, honestly).

back in the 80s and 90s family abuse was all over the country and still seen as a personal matter. Your wife and kids was like your car, you could do whatever you wanted to them and everyone still looked the other way... because of a lot of singers and sadly deaths going public, they changed much of it, it is not gone but it is not a personal matter anymore and we have so much more help.. Songs like this is a good show of how our famous people can help the world... remember that when your youtube blows up...

I'm glad you watch these kind of videos. People need to understand what its like to be abused. I am 62 years old and have mental illness because of the abuse I suffered. I know that the sooner you can get them help the better their recovery will be. My family did nothing for me and they knew what had happened and continued to happen. I always knew there was something wrong with me for a lot of years but didn't know what. I was in my 30s when I had a nerves break down. I finally got help but at a big price. I am a lot better now but have a long way to go. Thank you very much for caring and sharing. Sorry I wrote so much having a bad day.

I have a 11yr old cousin named Alyssa who is basically like my daughter because I raised for the first 3yrs of her life while her mom was in rehab over drug addiction. When she was 7yrs old she came out and told everyone that her mom's boyfriend(now ex) was abusing her. I went to my cousins house where this piece of shit was living and kicked her door in and beat that worthless piece of garbage so bad he ended up in the hospital on life support and told him if he ever touched my little girl again I would end his pathetic life

Why is she lying to everybody? Because that's what abused children do. My brother and I only once tried to tell a teacher. The teacher called SS and they sent a couple social workers. The social workers bought every word our parents told them...saying we made it up for attention and all they ever do is spanks us when we're bad. The social workers left and never came back and my brother got a broken arm and i got tons of bruises for our escape attempt. Abused children learn very fast that if you tell, nothing good will happen.
