This video was HILARIOUS 🙌🏾🙌🏾 Got so hooked I delayed my yoga practice 😂😂 I stopped following Jay Shetty a while back. I did his genius community (monthly subscription of £30 - btw he has thousands signed up to that), and I quickly realised he had no depth to him. He would show up weekly for 30 mins. The first 15 mins was a meditation, so basically you get 15 mins teaching time. Anyway, he would often ‘teach’ quoting extracts from research papers, other people’s books etc. And quite often he would google words and share the meaning to the group e.g. courage means this 🙈 He teaches basic mindset, self love stuff which anyone ‘awake’ knows. But because of his ‘status’ and the amount of folks ‘sleeping’, people love him!!! He is basically a knowledge broker - shares info that’s not his 😊

I admire you for your thoughts on this whole situation but I admire you even more for the way you ended the video and afforded Jay so much grace by saying he's probably got some 'good' in him and may have helped some people while maintaining the fact that him misrepresenting himself and twisting the truth is wrong. Sometimes 'bad' people do 'good' things and sometimes 'good' people do 'bad' things. That was a great display of true wisdom and I highly applaud you for this leading by example! Integrity and morality are rarely seen in this world today. Life and people are very nuanced and shades of grey exist within everything. Society has forgotten this and split the world and people, including themselves into 'all good' or 'all bad'. I had never seen one of your videos before and I'm so glad I ran across this one! Very well done sir! Thank you for being you!! 👏👏👏

If you really want to listen to a real monk with real substance who goes deep into what meditation is and so on listen to Gelong Thubten. Jay Shetty always struck me as superficial. There are loads of people like him who openly or not so openly sell how to become rich by being "spiritual" at the same time...or how to become spiritual and get rich in the process. Some people love them and pay loads willingly for their courses. I would not say they are scammed. They do it knowingly.

Wow - amazing analysis. Whilst exposing his flaws and fraudulent external persona, you’ve also been balanced and fair. I know people who swear by his mantra and that’s good cos it’s helped them. But transparency is more important

The fact that literally anyone is coming out being a life coach and people just follow shows how damaged and lost people are and even a little but stupid really. Still not ok to take advantage of people like that but man, we're becoming increasingly stupid

Let's be honest he's not a monk he's a businessman who's just seen a good opportunity to create a business. The guys a first rate salesman , but when the world's a market place expect dodgy salesman . It's a concept that's relative to the time , with a bit of truth and plenty of bull . So business as usual then . I listened to him interviewing Lewis Hamilton and it became extremely apparent that he's a bullshit artist , a very articulate intelligent salesman.

The majority of Jay Shettys followers are young urban women, usually teenagers or women in their 20s dwelling in larger cities with a liberal political outlook, who are very naive, superficial and easily deceived or conned by his "cozy" and easy-going persona. He is very likeable, charming and has a disarming Colgate smile which makes a lot of people put their guard down and trust him. Moreover, his "spiritualism" is just a cocktail of clichés, platitudes and shallow nonsense, but for people who are not very cultivated and sophisticated his words, unfortunalety, come across as deep and meaningful or profound wisdom.

his page still says that: Jay Shetty Certification School is an OTHM approved centre delivering a non-regulated Endorsed Learning Programme in Coaching and Leadership Development at level 7. This means that the completion of this diploma programme meets the equivalent standard of study at postgraduate level. i guess it means nothing then, since "meets the equivalent standard" can be interpreted in many ways...?

I study therapy and I noticed that he asks "leading questions" and "yes or no" questions to his guests and, of course, they always choose the good option. I understand why celebrities love him because he soothes their ego! I gotta say, I read a chapter or maybe 2 of his book and I thought it was good and practical (it had some exercises), and I liked some of his interviews.

So this seems like MLM. Aside from that, the risks of signing up to coaching from untrained and unregulated self-employed individuals are in my opinion very high. I've worked in mental health services and have some awareness of the requirements for mental health professionals. I've also seen what damage amateur psychologists can do to their victims. Why would you put yourself in the hands of someone with zero training or regulation? As I'm typing this, this very sensible lady has just popped up giving her analysis of the mental health claims. Excellent work.
