My favorite post workout meal no matter what time of day is a breakfast meal. Typically a protein shake, 3 whole eggs with liquid egg whites added, turkey bacon and with oatmeal or a Kodiak cakes pancake.

Great stuff!! Yup Boston is coming !! I have to say my post workout regime was aweful. Tried everything but nothing I like and looked forward to. Until all this and the jay bowl came out. That’s my all time favorite and feel so replenished after eating it ! I can’t wait to get home when I leave gym and I’m lucky that my gym is 2 min down road from me! My offseason post workout meal for the last year was 85/15 ground beef, whole eggs, and jasmine rice. I always felt super full after and couldn't take down my night-time before bed oats, whey, and blueberries. So, I see now why you say chicken and rice would be a better go too. I'm gonna have to try that and maybe save the red meat for before like I've done in the past for pre-workout meal about 1 1/2-2 hours before I train seemed to do well for me unless it was something that would be digested quicker like egg whites, chicken, or fish, which I've done all three at separate times also. Loving the channel and videos, Big Jay!! I've competed at your Central States show two years in a row in Michigan. I love the atmosphere that you, Remi, and Melissa have created at these shows!

Thank you for this video it it was really helpful my favorite post workout is to go to the grocery store and get a $10 or $12 sushi box sometimes two and usually it is tuna salmon and sometimes avocado also depends on how hungry I am and I also would take protein powder and a shake with BC AAs and vitamin powder form post workout that seems to be my ritual

Post Workout - First Thing I eat right after the gym is a smoothie with a 2 servings of fruit, a lemon and some greens. After that its 2 cups white rice, and 6oz chicken

Great video Jay, I have a protein shake as soon as my workout is finished, and then white rice about 15 min later. Then dinner about 2 hours later

Jay! Question: what is your opinion for someone who is following intermittent fasting and can only work out after their eating window closes? Example- I stop eating at 8pm but I work out at 9pm and get home at 10:30pm? Should I eat and move my fasting window? Is it bad to not eat at all after training in that situation? Thanks man

Jay I was laughing so hard. How big of a bowl did you give Daisy? You can hear her eating for like 10 minutes. She must be on that bulk life. Lol. I have been watching your videos for ever. When I work out I still bring a small Gatorade to the gym. I remember watching you do that. Also I still to this day eat chicken and white rice post workout and pre workout. I don’t really do protein shakes because it messes up my stomach. Your are still the man. Keep this great content coming. God Bless

Morning :eggwhites with cheese and cream of wheat with honey.Pre :ground turkey and veggies,intra:eaa ,creatine.post:egg white omelet and oatmeal with raisins and honey.before bed whole eggs with cheese .

Insighful👌im personally getting back into working out and because Im a heart-patient(I survived a major heart attack when I was 34,im 38 now) I have been eating baked boneless chicken breast w/breading and steamed white rice and to drink, a large cup of whole milk stirred with a few tb spoons of chocolate NesQuik. Tastes great, easy to make and digests easy while I also feel good recovery imho. Also if I may ask, whats your opinion Mr. Cutler, of "typical" protein powders like MuscleMilk,etc? Btw, Great Videos, and Keep Up the Great Work💪

Protein shake and peanut butter sandwich immediately after workout. Then home to fry up 1 chicken breast and 1 pork chop. That's how I do it

During the week when I workout before work I just have a protein isolate drink with whole milk, then an hour later (about) I have 2 cups of oatmeal. I work a very labor intensive job do I need the complex carbs. Then during the day I eat carbs or protein every 2 hours. On the weekends when I'm off of work I have 4 waffles and a protein drink rite after working out. I've been concerned with the corn syrup in the syrup so I'm glad Jay said he used to drink a coke after working out.

Nice information. Post workout part is mostly overlooked. I started working out at a gym a couple of months back. I take a Whey shake immediately after workout and 4 egg whites 15 mins later. Then a light dinner half an hour later.

Favourite post workout. Probably a bit weird. But what works for me is cannellini beans, chicken and veg. sometimes I add in some brown rice and a couple of eggs... But stripped down it's beans, chicken, veg.

Hello, I hope you’re well… I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction with regards to my pre/during/post workout I’m up at 5am & train at 05:30 for an hour, give or take a few minutes… I have 80g of Oat Powder, 30g of Total Protein & a half serving of EAA. Plus a Pre workout. During training I have, 25g of cyclic dextrin carb powder & half a serving EAA. After my workout, I have 80g of oat powder & 30g if Total Protein & half a serving EAA. I was wondering should I swap out half of my oat powder for my post workout shake & add in Dextrose? Would you do the same for the pre workout shake as well? So 40g Oat powder & 40g Dextrose. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I remember reading in muscle and fitness about jay cutlers post workout recovery where he would drink coca cola. I tried it myself for 2 years becsuse i couldn't afford supplements, drink it right after weight training and would have the energy and intensity to bang out an hour plus of cardio then chug down a banana and peanut butter protein shake blended with whole milk, made some crazy gainz and surprisingly stayed pretty lean, Thanks Jay your still the people's champ

I've been having a Quest bar before and after lately. Since I WO after work, a few hours after eating, I usually have 1 before and 1 after. 20 g whey apiece. Then I go home and have a larger meal. I guess I should add some kind of carbs for the glycogen loading.

I workout before breakfast. Breakfast is eggs with cheese and salsa, steak, oatmeal, and sometimes potatoes. And a shake on my way to work.

Pwo isolate shake right after, 1hour later Fish cake with fullcorn maccaroni. The cake is around 650kcal, 50g prot 50g carb 17g fat. Been having this for the last like 2 years tbh lol really cheap and tastes amazing.

I typically do a whey protein shake immediately after. Then, I love having a couple of eggs, a few raw baby carrots, and two slices of Ezekiel Bread. But I probably need to get that meal in closer to my training. This was a fantastic video Jay! Very similar to the JayMail that you send out. I’m grateful for you sharing your knowledge and I can’t wait for the Cutler Club!

What would you recommend for a guy who is in construction who's job very physically demanding which basically turns into 8 hours of cardio.I am lean and in good shape I feel like I eat right and workout 3 days a week but gains are very slow.thanks for your time

Jay, i have 2 young kids and work a full schedule during the week. My only time to really get to the gym is late at night usually 10-10:30 til 11-11:30. At that time of night before going to bed, what do you suggest eating after a workout besides the protein shake?

You want simple whole foods, not protein powder. Go with something like white rice and chicken breast, and olive oil with an avocado. Put two chicken breasts in, Double up on protein because you need it to last the night and you need the calories. If you just ate chicken and rice you would absorb that and be hungry within an hour and would effect your sleep. Eat enough to recover and to last through the night. The fats from the avocado and olive oil will add calories but the fats will blunt the insulin spike and absorption of the protein and carbs, so it is more of a sustained release throughout the night, rather than a massive spike and crash. You do that, drink a ton of water before and during workout so you don’t have to after your workout. And then done.

For cutting, when I wake up I immediately do stomach vacuums, then take some L-Carnitine and yohimbine with a glass of water. Then wait an hour for either first meal or protein shake.

Hey Jay.. what about for those of us that train early - 4:30 in the morning.... I default to "fasted" training but because there is no way to eat before and so I've been having egg powder shake mixed with Creatine at about 7:00, a meal at 11:00 another one at 2:00 a shake at 4:00 then a cardio run from 5:00 - 6:00 and then a meal, if I can stomach it …..I can't have dairy so I use egg powder and liquid egg whites for my shake protein. Is there something else I should be adding post work out? I think you mentioned carbs … I appreciate the videos and hearing whats going on …

After my workout I drink a bottle of isopure then half hour later I eat a good protein meal. Chicken breast or fish or steak. I try to eat at least 4 times a day.

rice n chicken, rice n ground beef, rice n eggs. I also like to have greek yogurt or kimchi with each meal for the probiotics. and also greens with each meal. 3 servings of fruit per day. juice from 1 lemon + water + 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar drink right when I wake up.

Hey Jay I thought fructose doesn’t replenish muscle glycogen? I’ve been doing 1 scoop of protein w/45 grams of dextrose post workout for a few years now..... glad to see your advice aligns with what I’m doing. Thanks for the info.

As a native Hawaiian, my best post workout meal is “poke” (raw yellowfin tuna) & “poi” (taro pounded and mixed with water). This post workout meal was recommended by my Uncle who was a professional bodybuilder and later professional power lifter. Easily digested and assimilated and it’s what my ancestors ate regularly.

Beef burger with potatoes. I just love the taste of potatoes. Second best choice (and fastest - real life-saver if you are time pressed) - oat pancakes (fine oats, water, eggs) with jam.

Hi bro always a fan of u I'm from south africa have been following u for like ever lol in our country not much is available to us my post workout meal is sweet potatoes steamed mixed veg and chicken

My go to post workout meal is very specific, but i have it every time after i go hard. Some pineapple, 20G whey protein, a good amount of pasta, 2 eggo waffles w/ syrup, and a whole egg. Tastes good, makes me feel good, and I get good results from it.
