2015-2022 Jeep Cherokee Brake Part Torque Specs:
Front Caliper Adapter Bolts - 129 ft/lbs. - Do not reuse these fasteners. If removed, a new fastener must be installed and tightened to specifications.
Rear Caliper Adapter Bolts - 89 ft/lbs. - Do not reuse these fasteners. If removed, a new fastener must be installed and tightened to specifications.
Front and rear Caliper guide pin bolts - 32 ft/lbs.
Wheel Lug Bolts - 100 ft/lbs.

Thanks for this. Ordered all the recommended parts and followed your directions precisely. Replaced pads and rotors on my 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. No more pulsing, stops smoothly and effectively.

Replaced my brakes just like your video. Brakes work well. But i have a new noise. When i turn my wheel all the way to the right, there's a knocking noise. It only happens to the right. Any ideas?

So question on the TTY bolts... The link for the front TTY bolt shows one bolt, do you need to order 4 of them? The link for the rear TTY bolt has a picture of 4 bolts. Does an order for 1 include a set of 4? If not, how many of these do you need to order? Sorry for the noob questions, first time brake changer here.

Link for the front TTY bolt is just for one. Order 4 to change front brakes. Same with the rear. Sold in qty = 1, so order 4 for the rear brakes. Enjoy your brakes!!!🎉🎉

Do the mounting bracket bolts need to be replaced or can they be reused? I have read in some forums that the bolts need to be replaced if you remove the mounting bracket to replace the rotor

See 2:12 Front and rear caliper adapter bolts must be replaced if they are REMOVED. 8 total, 4 front, 4 rear, 2 per caliper. link in pinned comment and description.

Make sure to open the brake fluid cap before compressing the caliper

This will help make compressing the Caliper easier & lessen the potential for a line blowout. However if your lines are rusty or dry rotting, replace them.

@@LIOverdrive thank you. I had mine all apart this morning, and then remembered about these bolts being one time use. Any tricks you can offer for cracking them loose? I have the t55 torx bit needed for the rear. But, I can't get them to budge.

I was confused with that detail too… that bottom clip is the anti squeal… when your brake pad wears down too far… the lip on that clip makes the squealing rubbing on the rotors.

I was able to change my brakes per your video. Everything seemed fine on my way home from my shop. Was about 15 minutes into my drive and was going around a corner and my Jeep started shaking. I got pulled over and checked my lug nuts. Everything appeared fine. I started driving again and all was well but breaking into my next corner it did it again and now it doesn’t quit. 40mph tops without vibration getting bad. Any ideas?

Make sure all wheels are seated properly(flat) against rotors. Torque all lugs to spec. Wheels may need to be balanced. Other than that, check for worn parts. (Ball joints, tie rods, etc…)

@@LIOverdriveI pulled the wheel and calipers back of. Decompressed them and remounted everything. I took it for a drive a few miles and so far it appears to be fine. It must’ve been something I did the first time because problem didn’t start until after I changed my breaks. I wonder if it was in my caliper. Idk. I have a light on in my dashboard now. It’s an A with a circle around it and an exclamation mark

@@livefreeordie7368 That’s the message indicator light. Use the down arrow and scroll down to 7.) in the messages. This should tell you what the light is for. This light also comes on for low tire pressure…

They are NOT torque to yield bolts but they are SINGLE use...probably due to preinstalled thread locker material. TTY bolts are torqued to a spec and addition amount of turn is specified to make bolt yield. (deform)

Thanks for your feedback. If you want to be super technical, these are single use bolts with a single torque spec. No angle specified. Just because the spec is tighten to angle does not mean it is TTY. Just because the book says to discard the bolt does not mean it is TTY. Whether or not the bolt material has reached its yield strength would require a lengthy mathematical process that is not worth the time. it would require that you know the exact fastener material & any applicable heat treatment. Seeing as how these are are single use fasteners, it is safe to assume that these are being tightened to at or near yield. Thus the reason why i have referred to them as "TTY" JUST REPLACE YOUR CAILPER ADAPTER BOLTS!!!

NO NO NO do not use synthetic grease on any caliper pins with a rubber bushing. It will swell and lock up the pin so it cant slide. Use Sil Glide lube on caliper pins

@@LIOverdriveYou are a good guy. I used the purple stuff and had a seized inner pad. There is a brake hardware kit with new boots and bushings to replace the swollen bushing that froze the guide pin.

purple stuff is called “brake parts lubricant” but it ends up turning to glue over time 😂
