Great presentation, one of the best questions to ask a Witness (since they carry on about the FDS being chosen by Jesus in 1919) THE QUESTION IS THIS : who is the FDS that Jesus chose in 1919 ???? No Jehovah Witness can answer that question. Not one. It's impossible to answer this question. BTW it's not the GB, nor can it ever be the GB.

The way Jehovah's Witnesses explain it makes sense. 144,000 is a multiple of 12 thus demonstrating that what began with the 12 apostles expanded over time. This is a new nation of Israel which diverges from the usual tribal listing, and through the Christian congregation fulfills the role first spoken of God's people, that they would be a nation of priest kings: "And YOU yourselves will become to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to say to the sons of Israel.” Exodus 19:6. Peter applied this to the Christian congregation: But YOU are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for special possession, that YOU should declare abroad the excellencies” of the one that called YOU out of darkness into his wonderful light," 1 Peter 2:9. The literal nation of fleshly Israel was based on the 12 tribes of Israel. The new spiritual Israel is based on the 12 apostles.

If you read the bible as you say I hope you noticed there were apostles and older men directing the Christian congregations. The Israelites also had organization and many men to oversee and train them. In the formation, organization, and subsequent direction of the Christian congregation, the apostles occupied a primary position. (1Co 12:28; Eph 4:11) Although they were joined by others of the “older men” in such supervision, they formed a principal part of the governing body of the expanding Christian congregation, and this body was recognized by the early Christians everywhere as the channel of communication used by God to render decisions and direct the affairs of the congregation throughout the earth. (Ac 2:42; 8:14-17; 11:22; 15:1, 2, 6-31; 16:4, 5)

@@ronhansen8471 I understand that. At that time The church was in its infancy. Being born-again means that I am sealed with God's Holy Spirit who teaches me through the Holy Bible. The practices of the JWs are NOT biblical. The governing body of the JWs is not needed. They do not believe the Gospel or that Jesus is God. If Jesus is not God then He died in vain and we are lost forever. There is NOTHING in the Bible that says we must belong to the Watchtower organization to have eternal life. That only come through repenting of sins and faith in Jesus Christ, not membership into any organization. Amen

Good point! And in 1935 they closed heaven and made the earthly/heavenly class distinction,. They used to say the 144,000 included all the Christians from the 1st century up until 1935. Not sure if they still teach that, but I think they do.

The real problem is that the 144000 anointed class are now all DEAD! They where at least 20 years old or older and where formed in 1935. That puts them all between 105 and 125 years old! They all died of old age!

Even if Jesus had existed my thought is he was just a man living during that century as someone charismatic who wanted human rights movement. And the people around him known as his followers and disciples made him as God😅. This is why those disciples were nations(race) of that country where Mr. Jesus was. If the Catholic church lied about that then maybe she lied about other things you rely on too. 😮 History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, - the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, - the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, - not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church, guided by the Holy Spirit, that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century, just 65 years AFTER the council of Nicaea which began the Trinitarian doctrine and subsequent councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved these scriptures by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

Hebrews chapter 11 refers to the faith of countless pre-Christian servants of God and then concludes with: “And yet all of these, although they received a favorable witness because of their faith, did not obtain the fulfillment of the promise, because God had foreseen something better for us, so that they might not be made perfect apart from us.” (Hebrews 11:39, 40) The something “better for us” cannot be referring to a better resurrection or a better salvation hope, because both groups, pre-Christian faithful ones and anointed Christians, are made perfect together so that they might not be made perfect apart from us. So both Christian (Great Crowd) and the Faithful Men and Women of old (Little Flock) are both made perfect together sharing in the one hope of ruling as kings with everlasting life as their reward ie the better resurrection. There are many, many, many passages where God speaks in the first person in the Old Testament, and Jesus will quote these in the first person about himself. He will claim things that are titles of God alone about himself and tells us he can not only hear our prayers but has the ability to answer them too. The Father is greater than the Son in rank, but one isn't more God than the other. That are God together with the Holy Spirit. Jesus says in John 5:19-23 that He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. The Father shows him everything he is doing. The Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge.so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. If Jesus does only what he sees the Father doing, doing whatever the Father does, so that He (Jesus) will be honored JUST AS they honor the Father, it sounds like Jesus is claiming to be God, because he claims he does everything he sees the Father doing and that he sould recieve the exact same honor as the Father.

Christendom not the JW organization has taken a phallic symbol with a carved image of Jesus Christ and hung it up in their churches, homes and other places and even kneel in front of it. The swastika is an ancient pagan cross. Then you have the Egyptian ankh and it seems all your pagan religions have some kind of cross to be proud of. With the plethora of interpretations of the Bible in the world today what makes yours the correct one? Is it the infallible one? If not, who really cares? On the other hand there is this to ponder and answer if you would… History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, - the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, - the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, - not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. Therefore, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church, guided by the Holy Spirit, that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century, just 65 years AFTER the council of Nicaea which began the Trinitarian doctrine and subsequent councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved these scriptures by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

I see you didn’t listen carefully from 8:20 to 9:09. He first said Franz was of the Lord’s anointed. To sum it, then said for the sake of argument what if Franz was the last group of anointed from 1914 to 1992 or around that time. That’s when he said we not saying he that he was (referring to the LAST group of anointed). You try changing it to say he was taking about if he was anointed or not. Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah as God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "'You are my witnesses, 'is the utterance of Jehovah, 'even my servant whom I have chosen.'" Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples today must be the same kind of witnesses, Jehovah's.

You don't go to heaven because you're a JW, you go to heaven because you repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ. I don't recall Jesus teaching us about the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to deal us until the day of redemption and to teach us ALL things. He didn't say that He'd speak through the JW governing body.

@@georgebauerschmidt5289 The 144,000 appears so many times in the Bible. For example, in the tabernacle, there are 48 boards that measured 10 cubits by 1.5 cubits and there are two sides to them. They also sit in 100 sockets of silver. So take it 48×10×1.5×2×100 = 144,000 2. The linen curtain, goats hair curtain, rams skin dyed red curtain in the Tabernacle. If you take their measurements, you’ll get 144,000. 3. If you take the inner dimensions of the most holy, which are 9 x 9 x 10 which equals 810. And you take the volume of the Ark of Covenant which is 1.5×1.5×2.5 you get 5.625. Take 810÷5.625 equals 144. Now multiplied by the outer dimensions of the Most Holy. 10×10×10 = 1000. 144×1000 = 144,000 4. Revelation 22:2 says that there are 12 trees that will give their fruit for 12 months. That’s during the millennium of 1000 years. 12×12×1000 = 144,000. These are just a few. But even if it is symbolic, who cares. We know it’s gonna be perfect whatever God chooses.

The problem is, even with the examples u gave in another response, for millenniums men have created biblical math, math that’s not found directly via scriptures, but interpreted as such to justify certain teachings or theologies. This has been done to justify or interpret one scripture to another, drawing parallels for “end times”, to sanctify a certain select group for a special calling, to predict the future, etc. The fact is, the 144,000 in its complete context in Revelation is symbolic. The Heavens was opened up by Jesus’ sacrifice to both Jews & Gentiles alike, which is why it states that a Great Crowd (or multitude) who r innumerable who would be gathered, standing before the throne & Lamb (Rev. 7:9) & there’s a great crowd shouting from heaven (Rev. 19:1). Muslims, Unification Church, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Church of Latter Day Saints, Skoptzists, Coptics, etc etc have all had their own interpretations, including using biblical/holy math to prove said dogmas. Names written on foreheads is symbolic, not being defiled by wives is symbolic, the tribes of Israel is symbolic (especially since these r not the original tribes, which doesn’t list Dan which could also be deemed as symbolic based upon Judges 17-18), etc., etc. Therefore, based upon the complete context, 144,000 is also symbolic. It does not stand for a handful of JWs who have a heavenly calling, but at the same r not sure from AD 33 - 1879 the total amount of ppl who went to heaven. The fact is when their false predictions of the world ending (1914, 1915, 1918, 1925) didn’t come to fruition, & blind followers who kept believing continued to grow past their 144k teaching, JF Rutherford had to pivot by taking another symbolic scripture regarding The Little Flock vs. Great Crowd, IGNORING all context & other biblical passages, creating a two class system which is not found in the Bible. Now? As more & more ppl r partaking of their bread & wine ritual (not prescribed biblically), they’ve had to change their teachings, again, to justify why the #’s r increasing, namely ‘no one knows’, & some ppl r emotionally unstable who partake. Lol It’s best to let the Bible speak for itself vs. convoluted equations that r interpreted as opposed to stated.

It seems to me that you have a huge prejudice against Jehovah's Witnesses. Is it possible that you always only see the bad in them? Are the witnesses really as ugly, dirty and evil as you make them out to be? Is there really ANYTHING positive to say about them? Really? Please prove me wrong and say something positive about the witnesses. Only one positive thing about the Witness Boady. Come on, you can do it...

They also believe in ONE God. They believe abortion is wrong. These beliefs are not exclusive to JWs. Muslims and other groups believe these things as well. 🤷🏽‍♂
