The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my family.
Thank you so much for following along on this journey. Your love and support help me so much.

I understand the trepidation about timelines, as I went through this when my mom had lung cancer. She was diagnosed in 1976 when there really weren't a lot of treatment options; few good ones, anyway. The doctors told her (and my family) that she had 9 months to a year to live. She died peacefully 31 years later at age 88, from a heart attack. Hang in there. Don't let this disease name you, and don't wear its name.

My husband has battled cancer for 8 years now. He has never been in remission, but has fought so hard. He is always on chemo and has had lots of radiation. It was stage 4 when we found it. He’s been told many times that he probably only had 6 months left, but he’s still here. We’ve learned to live with it, and it was difficult, but we found a new appreciation for the little things.

Once we are diagnosed with cancer, we are all beginners. And you are right, everybody has their own cancer, unique to them. There is such a fear associated with cancer that gets into everything... from the oncologist reminding you how serious it is, to all the stats you google. SO hard to just get on with our own journey. I am two years since surgery for breast cancer and the fear and uncertainty does get better, but i get a weird pain or sensation and BOOM, right back into the uncertainty. It sounds cliche but try to live in this moment, get through this day, know it will be better tomorrow and that you are doing the very best you can. Its what we do and it does work.

Tomorrow is one year since Mom passed, 94. She broke hip, deteriorated. Four days before she died, discovered she had lung cancer. She quit coming 50 years prior. It was a shock! I wish I had known as I would have spent every day with her, shared so many more conversations but she never knew and perhaps that was a blessing for her. It's a lesson to always share with your loved ones how you feel whether you have cancer or not You have a lovely family and so brave to share.

I have a friend with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer for 7 years! She is the most positive person I've ever known. She was there for me when I had cancer, she was there for me when my husband died (not from cancer). She is always helping people in need. No doctor thought she would still be fighting, but she is.

Mind and attitude is so much more powerful than people realize. If a doctor tells you you have 6 months to live and you believe them, then guess what? You're gonna have 6 months to live. But if they tell you that and you laugh and say no way, I'll be here 10 years from now and truly believe it, then you will be here 10 years from now. This is why I wish doctors would stop telling people the statistics or how much time they have because it sets most people up for failure with the power of suggestion. I understand what Kyle is saying about wanting to know how much time you have left but the only person who can tell you how much time you have left is YOU. Your friend has never given cancer the power to write her story therefore it never has. I wish you both well with your continued health. ❤️

I'm sorry you're being hit so hard by chemo right now, Jenny. I've seen many people say they didn't get as sick or even sick at all when they fasted the day before, the day of and the next day or two after chemo. It's like the chemo goes right for the cancer cells and leaves the healthy cells alone when you're fasting. I even have a couple family members that tried it that way and said they were shocked at how much better they felt when they fasted for the few days around their chemo treatments. It's worth a shot if it helps avoid the terrible sickness. Sending all of you lots of love and I hope you're feeling better soon. ❤️

You are absolutely right about each person reacting differently to the cancer in their bodies. My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on my birthday a couple years ago. It's a fast acting aggressive cancer. Typically the longest most have lived with pancreatic cancer is 6 or 8 years. But the average was two to five years so we thought we had some time with her. And within 30 days of her diagnosis she was gone. It was an absolute shock!! Praying for your healing!! You're doing amazing ❤️

Jenny, as a cancer survivor, I feel everything you are saying. I would do whatever you feel you need to for the children; videos, letters, etc…as we should probably all do anyway. Then put those thoughts aside as much as you can and continue to live as you have. Not having a timeline is probably a good thing especially as you are still in treatment and responding well. Let’s assume your time line is like 50 years.

It's like being on a Battlefield. When Yr brother or sister in arms falls, you hv to keep fighting, as awful and terrifying as it is. My Mum battled cancer for 13 years and mostly her fellow patients, she watched them pass, it was terrible. But She fought a good fight Jenny and never wanted to know her life expectancy or anything about her treatment! Her attitude was, let's do this, don't tell me anything. When my Dad got cancer he absolutely insisted on a timeliness and after his 6 month estimate he just seemed to resign himself n he died 6 months later. So I send you n Kyle a thousand n more Blessings for health n strength. Keep fighting. X

Thank you SO much for bringing awareness to the subset of individuals and their families that don’t get that “ heads-up” on the timelines. It feels like my amazing niece obliterated from the earth w/o that time to say our goodbyes: she was put on a ventilator to “ give her lungs a break” and never woke up. You also mentioned the stat that 1 in 6 pts of all cancers end up with pleural effusions and this is what stole my niece. 3 weeks before she was hiking with her boyfriend. You can’t wrap your head around it. I know this is an older video as I thought I had watched all of your videos. I also know you are making memories with your family and most likely not reading old comments. But I still wanted to thank you for bringing awareness to cancer patients who don’t follow the “ typical” trend. It’s just as devastating for the families…possibly more so as there is a huge chasm of all the things left unsaid.

I love those t-shirts. I am on day six post chemo and am experiencing much of what you are. Total exhaustion, overall yucky feeling, migraines, nausea. My nausea meds works about the same as yours-never really take it away. You are doing great and are a real inspiration to me.

We cant help but compare, cancer is fear, but what a man in Kyle, he should write a husband, dad how to do manual, he never had a family like you did Jen, i never really had lover and support except for my mum, my whole life, im an only child, it sucks, so so thankful uncle michael will be there for Kyle, for Ellis, he has real good male role models, i love GG, so good, and Kyle will be forever grateful for her love, support, love you Jenny, you are the daughter i would have loved, grand kids i will never have, i love my fur babies as well, they understand how we are both mentally and physically, your love and Kyle’s is unconditional, true love, open, amazing, so honoured to have known you Jenny and Kyle , love from scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I love your kitty, she's so precious 🥰 I have an orange tabby named Kaya, she was a rescue as well. I hope you're chemo isn't kicking your butt too hard today. As a plan oriented person, I wanted to know my timeline as much as it sucked to hear. I updated my advanced directive, had durable power of attorneys in place, wrote down every password, had transfer on death affidavit for my car, etc. Personally, planning for the worst and hoping for the best is my motto. I did all my meaningful trips and said my peace. The idea of creating something 'just in case' for your little ones is deeply emotional, but you're still checking all of all your boxes like one would with the adult stuff, so this seems like the next reasonable step. You're a great momma. Love you 💜💜

Hello Jenny, so sorry to hear you had a rough time this time around with your chemo but you are looking much better now. And sorry for the loss of your friend. understandably this makes you wonder about your own mortality. I just hope that you continue to fight cancer because I have faith in you beating it . I have know 2 people who were given a very short chance of surviving a couple of years but I'm pleased to say they are both still fighting this. And I'm sure with your attitude will go on for many years. Also credit where credit is due Ur husband's alright

Having fought off non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma twice, I can tell you while it’s extremely hard on the person who has the cancer, because chemotherapy and radiation is so devastating to one’s body, I think it’s doubly hard on the spouse. I, too am blessed with a wonderful, wonderful husband, who took care of the house and the two kids while I struggled with beating the cancer. He is so very much my hero. While I was sick, I slept a lot. While he took care of the cooking, the cleaning, all the child care and insured I took my medications on time. What I’m trying to say here is that I think there is never enough credit given to the spouse of a cancer patient who has to pretty much work their butt off supporting their mate. I’m so happy for you that you, too, appear to have a wonderful spouse supporting you in these difficult days. It is truly a blessing for you to have him.
