Belly Conklin is about to turn 16, and she’s headed to her favorite place in the world, Cousins Beach, to spend the summer with her family and the Fishers. Belly’s grown up a lot over the past year, and she has a feeling that this summer is going to be different than all the summers before. The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the book by Jenny Han, who is creator and executive producer.
About The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 2:
Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins Beach, but with Conrad and Jeremiah fighting over her heart and the return of Susannah's cancer, she's not sure summer will ever be the same. This conversation feel like confirmation that everyone has higher expectations of Jeremiah than they do with Conrad. Jeremiah gets the conversation of make sure nothing breaks you and your brother's relationship while it feel like Conrad actively doesn't really give a crap about his relationship with his brother. He didn't warn Jeremiah that everyone was going to be at Thanksgiving. Even after seeing how upset Jeremiah was about belly and Conrad he still asked him for permission to date her not even thinking of if it would hurt him. He leaves him out of big decisions and treats him like a kid even though Jere is the one who had to grow the most in the past year because he was basically his dying mother's care taker.

Without a shadow of a doubt a lot of Bonrad shippers see anything Jeremiah does as toxic and manipulative but gloss over and excuse Conrad's actions.

Conrad was always raised to be the "parent" of the group and more responsible so it makes sense why he feels like he should make the decisions but ofc he's still young and doesn't have all the answers. Also Laurel was there helping as well so it wasn't just Jere. And if anyone's to blame, it's Adam!

All he does is lash out and his family, mother and father, prioritize and baby him and make excuses for his behavior while everyone, yes everyone, ignores or doesn’t see what jeremiah goes through. conrad lashes out for attention, he did it all summer. while jeremiah hides all his pain just to be happy for belly and conrad and he puts on a brave face for his dying mother..you know the one he spent every day with. instead of being a teen living his life he cooked meals for her, encouraged her to take her medicine, watched films with her, handled medical bills cause his dad wasn’t there etc. meanwhile conrad could sneak 16 year old belly out of her house disobeying and disrespecting laurel and drive hours to the summer house, yet he could barely visit his mom?. and YET, his mom’s dying wish was for people to look after Conrad, not Jeremiah. No one ever takes into account his feelings or mental health. So no, Conrad is not the adult here. And him telling people to grow up will never make him one.

@@Maribelsa it's not so much shown in the show but in the books, Conrad always had to watch over the boys and Belly. In s1, Adam even got mad at Conrad for not looking out for Belly after she got drunk since he's the oldest. And throughout the show, we always see Conrad cleaning up and picking up after the others. For example, after Laurel and Susannah made a mess, Conrad was cleaning and Jeremiah basically but indirectly said it's not my job. And we don't see every single thing. For all we know, Con did visit Susannah every chance he got. But since the show is from Belly's pov, we see him visiting her. And obviously Conrad couldn't take care of Susannah since he was at college. Jere did cuz he was still living with her. If anything, Adam should be to blame for not being there for them. These boys are still young and shouldn't have these responsibilities forced onto them

I take whats shown on screen as canon. he insulted his mother often so idc that he picked up trash a few times. and it’s still a 40-50 minute drive so many students (like me) commute to our schools every day, we still see our parents. he can hang with belly im pretty sure he could’ve made the effort to visit his dying mom. even in season 1 before he even had college he didn’t even try?? it was Jeremiah who would be with her. this has nothing to do with belly btw, jere and Conrad have a lot of issues. jeremiah was hurt by his brother and conrad wrongfully invalidated that. I guess we’ll see his point of view next season but i don’t see anyway of justifying that. I liked the talk they had in 2x07 and i hope they can continue to have more brotherly moments because I miss seeing that bond but unfortunately with the love triangle I think they will just regress back to before. As for Adam yes he is to blame as well

Thank God I haven't read the books but still, I won't lie, I wasn't really impressed by season one. It's why I'm hesitant to start season two in the first place. The fact that this whole love triangle revolves around brothers? At first it seems cute, but it's really not because the reality is...its not that realistic and I get it Conrad was upset with his findings but he still acted weird. His reasons for liking belly weren't exactly clear by the time it ended and I genuinely think that the only reason he accepted her was so that she could distract him a little because he knew his mom was dying. It's why he clearly said he needed her and that to belly should've been a red flag. Jeremiah wasn't given a chance but it was clear he liked her for all the right reasons. I mean belly got drunk just so she could say how she feels and how did Conrad react? And now I've seen a snippet of here kissing belly. It just proves to me that maybe belly is in love with the idea of being in love and she'll go to whoever gives her that energy I wish a new character was introduced because I personally want jere to move on. It why I've been stuck on fanfictions as I wait for all of it to air.😅

She’s the PROBLEM! Conrad and Jeremiah are way too good for Belly. She’s been playing them. How can you be so in love with one brother and 5 secs later you’re head over heels for the other ? Also, I feel that she’s always using Jeremiah as her second option and is used to having him there all the time for her so when he wakes away and isn’t giving her attention, she goes after him. In season 1 , she kissed Jeremiah the same day Conrad rejected her . Then when Conrad left her, she suddenly was missing Jeremiah and now is so desperate to get him. Like girl get your shit together and leave those brothers alone. I know is fantasy but girl bouncing from one brother to the other is just LOW. I’m team Belly needs to be alone.

WHOEVER UPLOADED THIS SHIPS THEM AND I AGREEEE. The thing is in the books, hell, it's so easy to ship Conrad and Belly and just about most of us did. The author pushed it that way. But in the show, Gavin and Lola really bring the NATURAL chemistry. They hit so deep, deeper than any of the other couples on the show. This season solidified that to me. In the first season, they were cute- but since Jeremiah's matured I really want them to be together. Belly is still immature and unfortunately stuck on Conrad. I just ah the chemistry between the actors imo is so much better! So Team JELLY for the show!

ive always been team conrad but this episode made me feel so bad for jere. They focused more on jere's perspective and that made me realize how much he would be a good choice for belly. But i think hes better off as best friends with belly and belly and conrad is just made for each other in the first place. Even though con and belly fights and pushes each other a lot, and jere makes belly smile more, i still think conrad is the right choice for belly. Also belly kinda pissed me off in this episode. Bc when belly, tay, and skye, was walking, belly was talking about how much she loves conrad and she cant love anyone more than him, yada yada blah blah... Then she goes to jere and shes like "why wouldnt u kiss me😢😔" and jere was like "bc if i do idk if i can ever stop" AHHH THAT MADE ME SCREAMMMMM😭😭 lastly, when jere and susannah was talking on the couch, susannah said "sometimes ur too good at being fine" then jere says "well isnt that what everyone wants me to be?" I FEEL SOO BAD. Everyone thinks jere is gonna be ok after everything he went thru, but no hes not fine. Now idk if im team con or jere...😭

Crazy thought. It would be so funny if Belly ended up in a throuple with both guys. It'd solve the same-old relationship triangle we've seen a hundred times in an unconventional way. But I guess it's too much of a niche relationship concept to be accepted by the broad audience.

Belly is such a characterless girl! She is so behind getting falling in love, still When jere kissed she fell for him later when Conrad kissed she so. Forgot Jere and acted like nothing happened. And again when conrad dumped her, she soon wanted Jeres attention! Jere you deserve better. Belly is not the only girl. I like Taylor, she is so cool

It's just words. "I would have done it right". The Deb was important to her too, but Jeremiah left her stranded. But he just found out his mums cancer came back, so it's understandable. But the same could be said for Conrad and Prom, his mum is dying before his eyes (obviously getting worse). He's suffering from grief, depression and anxiety. But heaven forbid you suffer from a mental illness or grief, lest you be labelled toxic. While Belly's immaturity and selfishness is frustrating, she's a high schooler, so she should be immature. They should all just focus on healing their grief and supporting each other as friends ❤️

The Deb was important to her but Jeremiah had literally just found his mom had cancer again he didn’t know what to do but just cry then he got himself together and went to tell Conrad. I personally think finding that out is waaaayyyy more important than anything and belly understood she cried when she found out as well it overall was just a very shocking day for everyone.

I feel for Jer, but the way he spoke about Conrad not being excited for prom with Belly and forgetting her corsage while completely glossing over the fact that Conrad was extremely depressed at the time really irks me. The idea that Jer may have managed to be excited for prom with Belly in spite of his mother's situation does not mean that he's in any way a better man than Conrad. It just means that he was thankfully coping better. It's also convenient to forget that Conrad had been dealing with their mother's situation for way longer and had had to face the fear and conflict of not revealing her secret all alone for months. I understand that both Belly and Jeremiah are still very young so I can see why they may reason the way they do, but it's incredibly unfair that Conrad is spoken about as if he's some toxic monster who broke Belly's heart, when in fact he was simply depressed and tormented by trauma and Belly (understandably so) did not know how to deal with that.

I am not team Jeremiah or Conrad but based on comments she ends up with Conrad. why in hell would watch a series that I know the end? Any way hate brothers fighting over a girl. The book ending needs to change for me to watch it. Vampire Diaries & Dawson Creek changes their series ending.
