That's a really cool hack with the bellows. My girlfriend has an ultralight thermarest so I got her that same air pump. I'm totally going to pick up some pocket bellow s now!

For redundancy, add a small bottle of hand sanitizer to your fire kit. It is basically fire gel and costs almost nothing. Get it in the travel section at any store. Youre welcome!

Oh yes! I've used it before and carry hand sanitizer in my EDC fanny pack so it is always close at hand. Amazing how effective it is!

Not sure if this works for you but couldn't you use your pliers in your multitool or even a Knipex XS to use as the pot holder. It could save space I would think.

It will absolutely work. I have done that before, however, with such a pointed point of contact, it has a high chance of denting your pot once weight is added like water or cooking pasta. If the visual doesn't bother you, it would absolutely minimize the kit. Good thinking!

@@Jfree441 Oh good point! I'm actually looking into building some kind of 72 hour kit and everyone keeps mentioning a pot and stove. But you're right in that it likely would mar and dent the stove. I didn't factor that into the equation.
