Another outstanding performance by Jerome Hines! He was as well known for his strong religious faith as he was for his vocal artistry.

Such great resonance, such a beautiful voice it gives me the shivers. How many voices like this can appear in even 100 years?

Utterly Stupendous - deeply moving performance. One of the treasures of KZfaq imho! NB, this work by Sullivan to the words of the feminist writer Adelaide Proctor became the biggest commercial success of any British or American song of the 1870s and 1880s

I had the privilege of meeting, talking with and knowing him for a short time. He made it clear that his goal in life was knowing Jesus Christ personally.

One of my favourite singers. It’s a shame that ones are as famous as Luciano and others as great if not greater are not!

Is this the only recording of "The Lost Chord" sung by bass? The orchestra arrangement is great; however, Sullivan never orchestrated this piece.

Nelson Eddy does a nice baritone version of this. I play it often as an accordionist. It has an interesting history if you look at how it was composed, and it,s a lovely piece of music. Rgds from Frank in Bristol.
