Yes, this has been widely reported for decades by all parties involved, including Haroldine sharing the story in radio interviews, etc. But the story about her tricking producers is bogus -- she had been on the show before and producers knew well she was only 16 then but they asked her back anyway. I was taking training at Fort Bliss Texas (El Paso) during the summer of 1967--a few months after this Dating Game. Some members of my outfit accidentally ran into Jerry on Fort Bliss at the time, but I never laid eyes on him. I thought Fort Bliss was purely an Army base specializing in Air Defense, but it's certainly possible JM may have received Air Force training there--or maybe he was actually in the Army National Guard like I was.

That’s not very nice. His interviews clearly show a kind, down to earth, genuinely nice person, unlike some former child stars. We can’t all be perfect physical specimens. He’s had some major health issues. A person of depth looks at the heart, not at the outward appearance, especially if you don’t know what he’s been through in real life.

No, if you read her comments here when I discussed it with her, she didn't know the show very well and didn't know who any of them were, but quickly got a crush on Jerry - she had been on the show several times and she told me she was only 15 and went on several dates with Jerry after this show before they went to London; he even came and met her parents. But by the time they got to London, Jerry seemed to think she was too young for him, and Jerry told me he wanted to explore the pubs on his own without Haroldine's chaperone. They didn't see each other after they returned from London.
