In this tutorial I'll show you how to hide seams in your polymer clay using polymer clay canes. It's a great way to add an extra element to your piece and hide a seam at the same time. I'll also show you how to smooth out those canes so that the entire veneer is perfectly smooth. There are a lot of techniques in this tutorial that can be used across many different projects.

Thank you very much, I very much needed the help with smoothing out without distorting. My sister called it "groovy" looking, which is great for her millennial-hippie self, but not what I was after!

Very helpful, your videos always are. I like to join either 2 types of texture sheets of clay or a smooth sheet to a textured one. I wonder if there is a way I can do that without having to cover the seams. Maybe others would like to see a tutorial on that also. Thanks for all you teach us.

Thank you! Very helpful tutorial! I have a number of canes which are really old. Is there a way to wake them up again so I can use them like you just showed us. They are dry and crumbling even if I cut a thin slice it crackles when I try to add it to a sheet of clay. Thanks for sharing ❤️

I've heard of using liquid clay on the outside of a cane to wake it up.

Bit fused, which do you use Greaseproof paper or Waxed paper, they are two different things?
@beckydewey2284
@beckydewey2284 4 жыл бұрын
My understanding is both will work, and plain printing paper will too (she calls it copy paper). Also you can bake on greaseproof paper but not on waxed just fji :) Different countries use different names to so it can get quite confusing! But The Blue Bottle Tree has a great article on the different types of papers (wax, deli, parchment, greaseproof etc) if you’re interested thebluebottletree.com/parchment-paper-plastic-wrap-deli-sheets/
