Jessica, this is the best tutorial I have seen online, hands down. You explain clearly, (you also speak clearly) and the video quality is superb--it shows everything you do up close and unobstructed, so there's no guesswork after viewing it. A++++ !

Although I agree that waxing your cord is helpful, I find it doesn't prevent the fraying of the cord at the end which can become a headache when trying to slide your bead on. I find a tea light to be my best friend. I simply do a diagonal cut at the end of the cording or string allow some wax to melt in the tealight and dip the cut end in the wax and wipe off the excess with your fingers. This both prevents fraying and causes the end to become stiffer thereby allowing for easier stringing of your beads. Thank you for your wonderful tutorial as you provide some great info including the dreaded dirty word of math😞!

Very nice tutorial video. I enjoyed your straightforward presentation keeping on topic and then moving directly to next-steps throughout the video. Question please: when using larger, heavier beads would you use thin flex wire or strong braided threads? I'm making a 26 inch beaded Endless Necklace using 16mm Black Onyx Beads and 18mm Hand Carved Red Coral Beads. All beads are natural products. I can also use Coral Rondel Beads as spacers of needed to secure the large beads better. I'm new to beading so any advice is appreciated greatly. I just found your KZfaq channel this evening and like it very much!

Hi Pamela! Welcome :) If you want to use flexible beading wire I would suggest not using anything less than 49 strands in the thickest size that will fit through all your beads and make sure you allow for some movement when you crimp it. In other words, instead of crimping the ends with the necklace laid out straight, curl it around and THEN crimp so it's not strung too tightly. As for strong braided threads, I'm not entirely sure what you mean but something like a strong thick knotting cord (nylon / polyester / satin) would porably work for this type of necklace, and that would probably be my personal preference...Although I should say I haven't tried it with beads that large before. I hope that helps! Happy Beading 🤗

@@JewelryTutorialHQ Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Yes, I too, believe that knotting cord in Silk might be my best option. I envision the final necklace being akin to a large Pearl Stand Necklace, heavier of course, but that's the classic look I'm looking to achieve and mostlikely will Pearl Knot between each bead Thanks again! You're the Best 😊. In the 1960s and 1970s we wore large heavy Beads made from Semi-precious natural stones and they were oftentimes stung like Pearl Strand Necklaces. Fingers crossed 🤞 🙏 😀 ☺ 😊
