JG Aurora A5 Repair- Part 2 -Power Supply

Күн бұрынToday we'll knock out the first "major" repair of the JG Aurora A5 printer- the dreaded power supply failure. Dramatics aside, what makes this type of failure so bad is
a: they totally kill your printer, and b: these types of PSUs fail OFTEN! Like, "keep a spare on hand to swap out" kind of often.
Luckily for us, the failure is predictable enough that repairing it is trivial. If you've got a soldering iron, you can do it. In fact, here's what I used to repair this power supply:

Soldering Iron- Hakko FX-888 D
20 AWG Silver Plated Copper Hook-Up Wire, PTFE Insulated

just got one just like i herd the power supply is ca bit small to heat up some stuff so i need a bigger unit {amps} upgrades n mods to come well after i learn to use it lol

So did you eventually replace or upgrade the NTC's? If so, what did you use?

I actually got a Tevo Little Monster that has become my "big machine" and have the A5 on the side awaiting a few upgrades, including a Meanwell power supply.

@@bebsrepairbench5074 I received a non-working A5S the other day. I was hoping it would be just an issue with the power supply but it checks out fine with the multi-meter putting out just a little over 24v. I did notice the power supply fan doesn't run during testing but I'm assuming it just runs when there is demand. When powered on the screen for A5S is completely white then goes blank. I have either and issue with the mainboard or the touch screen board and now need to try to determine which one is the at fault. The mainboard has LED's that come on which I am sure is some kind of status but searching the web there's no mention of what they are for. I enjoyed your videos, they give me hope!

@@randywright6285 I appreciate the appreciation! I would start by checking the voltage of the power supply when powering the machine on to see if it drops. If it stays the same with a load, unplug the bed heater, nozzle heater, and motor cords, then try to power on again. Let me know the results and we'll try to figure it out!
