Out of all the traps in the Saw franchise, the "Rack Trap" has to be one of the absolute worst traps to be in. Just imagine the horrifying pain of your bones twisted to a 360 degree angle and sticking out of your body till you bleed to death.

Fun fact: the musical score that plays whenever a big twist happens is not the same reused track from movie to movie. They're actually separate tracks that are variations of the original piece from the first Saw named "Hello Zepp." Each has a different length and additional sfx to fit the film they belong to. Fittingly they're named numerically (Zepp 2 through Zepp X) with the exception of Saw 7 since it was originally titled Saw: The Final Chapter and thus it used "The Final Zepp" in its score. But we all know how that turned out 😅

This movie wasn't as well received as the previous two films when it released. I'm glad it's getting a lot of love now! I loved seeing the bathroom trap setup and other bits of background lore, and Jigsaw was scary as hell even when he's reduced to staying on a gurney for the entire movie.

Tobin Bell said that, out of all of the traps in the series, this one was his favorite. MPAA Hacks Fact: The film's most graphic scene, Jigsaw's (Tobin Bell) brain surgery, remained completely uncut by the MPAA. The filmmakers argued that it was no different from what people would see in any medical documentary on TV. What Script Fact: Amanda (Shawnee Smith) was not originally supposed to grab Lynn (Bahar Soomekh) by the throat and threaten her in the sick room, as can be seen by her surprised facial expressions in the moments after. The line where Lynn says "you fucking freak" was not written in the script. Bahar added it in after Shawnee unexpectedly threw her against the wall.

The twists at the end of these movies never get old! And not only did John and Amanda die but we lost Carey too!! We need a character to follow onto the next films! Glad you loved the movie, Cole!

Crazy thing, I think Jeff actually did forgive Jigsaw, his act of murdering him was less revenge and more to stop him from killing more people.

The shopping cart saw trap is the funniest thing I've ever heard. That absolutely needs to be in a saw movie Saw 12: Jigsaw is back and pettier than you've ever seen before! Shopping cart trap, dude who didn't put the toilet seat down after taking a leak trap, guy who didn't make a new pot of coffee when he drank the last cup trap, and more!

For me the first three movies are the best.

god amanda is one of my all time favorite characters!! she really went through it and i think people tend to forget that she was also a victim. john took her in as a father figure, but obviously this relationship wasn't very healthy. basically amanda started doubting his methods because she came to the conclusion that nobody is changed by john's tests, even if they survive. she realizes that she wasn't fixed, so nobody else could be. sure, she stopped doing drugs, but turned to self-harm instead. she was never "fixed." so, if nobody ever changes, she might as well rig the traps that people are put in, taking away their chance to live knowing that they wouldn't have walked away any different. like eric matthews -- he didn't change. she kills adam, though, because she's guilty. there's a deleted scene where she has nightmares about him being trapped in the bathroom. so, she goes against her loyalty and kills him, believing that if she had freed him, he'd fall into the same cycle she did. becoming a jigsaw apprentice SUCKSSS and amanda knew that very well.

I just watched Saw X and i have to say...best movie of the franchise, seriously, i just want to watch it again and again. Best horror of 2023 fr

Saw 2 had the needle pit as the standout setpiece, the pig mush pit + the rack are tied for this one. SPOILER: None of the other films except for VI reach reach memorable setpiece territory again.

Jeff's a great character of vengeance and that ending was SUCH A MIND TWIST. BUT the twists keep on coming in Saw 4 :D. Saw 4 will answer some of your questions and I have a feeling your going to LOVE 4 as much as 3. These are fantastic movies and glad that you're finally getting to watch this franchise.

Me living in a fantasy world where I refuse to believe that Adam is dead. I’m rewatching the whole series before seeing the new one Tuesday. I can’t wait. I’m hearing some people say it’s the best one in the whole franchise, which is wild because it would be hard to top the original for me (or in your case, Saw II). Just rewatched this one the same day you posted, so now I’m currently on the 4th one, too. I was so excited to see Detective Kerry in the beginning because I love her. She had a super small role in the first one, then a much bigger role in the second, so when I saw this movie for the first time, I thought she would be our lead. I was so sad when she died in an unbeatable trap! She’s my favorite (after Adam). I like how seemingly small, unimportant characters later become big characters in the franchise (like her and, as you’ll see, Rigg). I think Leigh Whannell is good at that kinda thing, where things connect from movie to movie like he did with Insidious 1 and 2. Can’t wait for your next upload. I’ll be binging 4-6 today once my grandma wakes up from her nap. She doesn’t like gore, but these twists have been getting her hooked.

I really think they messed up getting rid of the two main antagonists of this franchise so early on. That's why, the rest of the Saw films fall off after 3. Aside from that, this one had some of the most brutal traps out of all the films. Your reaction to the twisting trap was as glorious as I expected. However much I enjoy the Saw films as a whole, I'm eager to see what else you have in store for spooky season. Keep up the good work, Cole. These reactions never disappoint.

Everybody is always like, "God, Jeff is so stupid, he learned nothing from his tests". But like, nobody ever learns anything from these tests because the methodology and morality is inherently flawed. The only person who "learned" something was Amanda, and she obviously is crazy and sadistic. He's always talking about how important his work is, how he is there to help people, he's not a killer. But in the end the dude is just a cult leader with a god complex who likes to put people through this. I think the interesting thing about Jigsaw as a character is that he is so sure of himself that he's the hero of the story. I really like the Saw movies (even the bad ones to an extent), but in general I think it's best to avoid a "Jigsaw is right" take on things. People always rip on Jeff, but to me it's like, so Jigsaw wanted to punish this man for wishing death on the people involved with his son dying, and decided to punish him by having the people he wished harm to be put into these situations. I think it's a little repetitive and plays out the same each time, but that's on the writers. I don't LOVE Saw 3, it would be in the middle area if I was ranking Saw movies (I think 2 is the best, then honestly I like 6 the second most, then the original). I think it has major pacing issues, it's way too long, but it definitely has some good stuff.

This has been my favorite in the franchise but Saw X is definitely challenge that. The Rack is definitely my favorite trap, it’s vicious as hell. Jigsaw being so many steps ahead is always dope to see. More twists to come, look forward to seeing you enjoy the ride!

ORIGINALLY THIS was suppose to be the end, just a trilogy so that's why they killed John Kramer but it was making so much money they continued and 4 and the rest of the sequels adds so much more and even answers questions to previous movies.

It's so fun watching you become Team jigsaw like I am hahaha. People crap on the franchise for this one and going forward, but I love the story, and how everything is intertwined. I am not that squeamish normally, but I don't need as much of the visual as this provides. I get grossed out a bit. I feel like it'd be just as scary without seeing as much of the gore, since my mind makes things just as terrifying. I disliked Jeff in this movie. I know the awful backstory for him, but still. I rooted for Jigsaw only. Actually, I was mad that Kerry died, since she had been around before and her trap failed. Ah well. Awesome reaction, Cole. This was truly when the franchise dipped in quality. Killing jigsaw so early was such a mistake which was actually something the director regretted doing and we see that with the sequels after this. Amanda having unwinnable traps was an interesting concept so jigsaw testing her was her karma. A great saw movie with a somewhat unlikeable mc with Jeff like bro really had everyone he was supposed to save die bc of his stubbornness. I will not forgive jigsaw for taking his daughter like bruh why.

I personally felt this was the logical closure point in the series. It was the last Saw movie written by Leigh Whannell and the writing went downhill after that. Saw 3 is my favourite Saw sequel.

How is there so many movies non spoiler but let's look at what. Has been revealed about John Kramer or Jigsaw so far he plans 10 steps ahead. He had Amanda as a secret apprentice so that's how because if he one secret apprentice who's to say she was his only apprentice. Then as the 2nd movie showed time is not linear something being shown now. Could easily be from the past or from another person's point of view. Think of the Saw movie franchise like the Twilight Zone they control what you see an when you see it. Since you brought up Hellraiser if you understand how cenobites come to be. Let's just say John Kramer most likely if he got hold of a Lamont configuration puzzle box. He most likely would edd up in black leather if you know what I'm talking about. With a new master that he would be obeying. If you know you know if you don't people you need to watch Hellraiser 2. Side note I got the the Arrow Video Blu-ray of Clive Barkers Hellraiser 1987. So I'm already done listening to the two audio commentaries with Clive Barker one with Ashley Laurence how play Kristy. Along with one bonus feature with the guy that played Frank an one with Doug Bradley. I still have more bonus features to go yet so when I say I go to learn about some movies. I'm not kidding around because the movie is like 1 hour an 30 something minutes long. Times that by 3 for the movie an two audio commentaries. Not to mention the other bonus features. But it's worth it to find out what went into the movies an the story in it. Especially with a movie like Clive Barkers Hellraiser an Nightbreed but only watch the Directors cut of the movie Nightbreed. Because writers an directors like Clive Barker did the opposite of what everyone else. Was doing when it came to the storys he wrote an then made into movies. Every one else this person looks like a monster so they are the villains of the movie. Clive Barker sees that an goes who says that you only choose to make them the villains of the movie. This is why when it comes to Nightbreed you an every one should only watch the Directors cut of Nightbreed. Because from the Shout/Scream Factory version of Nightbreed the Directors cut on the audio commentary with Clive Barker . Along with every single bonus feature an even before the movie. Clive Barker makes it clear that the movie studio majorly FT up the movie by cutting scenes out to. Make the movie tell the story that the movie studio wanted to tell. I mean seriously every single person that worked on the movie Nightbreed all said the same thing. That when they seen the theatrical release version they were like this is not the same movie that was in the script or screenplay for the movie. That is not the movie that we made what movie are we watching. So that's why I do what I do to find out how an what goes into certain movies not all but ones of interest. Then spead the truth about what the writers an directors say. Because sometimes the movie studio interfered an FT up the movie like the movie studio did with the original release of Nightbreed. Only for the real version to come out years later in the directors cut of the movie. Then people ingor the facts of the movies as they are stated both verbally and shown in the movie. Then make up bs an go around saying it's facts when the writers an directors say otherwise. In the movie. Like if a movie clearly says it's about a apple those people will say it's about a banana. Even though the movie makes it perfectly clear it is about a apple. Does doing this annoy certain people yeas but only people that don't like hearing that. They are wrong or someone has the nerve to have a different opinion from them. But as you seen I always start by saying where I get that information from. The specific version of the movie an audio commentary an bonus features. Because these people claim to say they know what they are saying is true. But they never state where they get their information. Because when you make up things based on your feelings an beliefs and opinions. There is nothing to back it up when it comes to the facts of the movies. These people basically say that the writers an directors of the movie. Don't know anything about the movie or the characters in the movie. Even though the writers literally and figuratively created the characters an wrote the stuff around the characters an the world. But them as a random person who just watched the movie knows an understands it better then them. Let's just say I learned one thing from countless audio commentaries an bonus features for countless movies. That is when people ignore an change the movie an the story in the movie that. They put all that time an effort into then replace it with random bs that has nothing to do with their movies story. It kinda pisses them off an makes them ask what's wrong with these people. The movie clearly shows an says the complete opposite of what they are saying. Did they even watch my movie at all because it doesn't sound like it.

Lynn and Kerry’s reason for getting tested were total bullshit. Of course Lynn was depressed, her child died. Sure she shouldn’t have cheated on her husband but Jigsaw brings up how she’s dead inside and swallows antidepressants to hide her pain which seems to be his main issue with her. And Kerry was basically tested because she was good at her job. I’ve just sort of convinced myself Amanda lied to jigsaw about detective Kerry so they could avoid getting caught. I do enjoy this movie though, the change to the formula was a nice change though I wish they would have gone back to the escape room formula similar to Saw and Saw 2. And I have to give credit to the pig vat trap because it’s one of the only ones that deals with emotional torture rather than physical torture. Also it’s Tobin Bell’s favorite trap, just a fun fact for you.

Out of all the traps throughout the entire series, none of them made me cringe and squirm nearly as much as watching Donnie Wahlberg mutilate his foot to get it out of the shackle. The needle pit in saw 2 comes close though.

Saw 3 is definitely the goriest of the franchise. Where the others will mainly show brief flashes or quick cuts of the gore and more focus on the characters reactions, nope! This one just straight up shows everything! I never cared for this one, and still don't. I just find it way too depressing. Jeff is too mean spirited and a slow-ass motherfuck and all the people in his test are the most undeserving people. And I just didn't like Amanda in this one. Oh well, I hope you watch the rest of the series cause it gets REALLY GOOD!!!!
