Jim Lee drawing process: 1. Begin a sketch 2. Make a sketch that looks amazing already 3. Draw the entire thing like it's nothing Yup... just gonna go back to my 5+ hour drawing of Bruce Wayne that doesn't come close to that 3 minute sketch.

Practice without stopping, challenge yourself to draw from 5 to 12 hours in order to develop your style don't stop whatever you do don't stop
@Jiboby4 жыл бұрын
Crispin Dry true but you wanna challenge yourself. I draw over 10 hours a day and I love it so much. If you’re not ready to dedicate yourself to become an artist like Jim Lee, then art is not for you. The only reason Jim became this good is not because he was a prodigy or anything. It’s because he practiced 10 to 15 hours a day! So if you want to become this good, you need dedication. You do have a point but to get the rewarding results, it won’t always be pleasurable and rewarding. It’s gonna be tough. You’re gonna need to try and push yourself (not too much) if you really want to become as good as Jim and literally become one of the best comic book artists if not the best comic book artist in history. If you wanna draw for fun, then sure. But if you want to really reach Jim’s level, you need to train hard and sometimes it won’t be pleasurable. Sorry for the long paragraph. I just had to prove a point. Anyway, have a great day! :)

@@crispindry2815 I disagree. Discipline is very necessary to achieve even a modicum of proficiency as a draughtsman. And if you are an aspiring comic book artist long days are simply what it takes. If you are a hobbyist fine, but any young aspiring artist who wants to make it their profession needs to realise that work ethic, not talent, is absolutely key. Only those that enjoy the process you describe as torture generally make it. I would say a minimum of four hours a day for at least a year (or it’s equivalent) is necessary, and you have to constantly practice, because it’s not like riding a bike.

the sad thing about these sketches that he was placing in peoples bags is that some of the people don't even know who Jim Lee is, at SDC C14I was having lunch when a guy said "hey what's this did you buy this?" and I said to him wow you got a Jim Lee sketch he said " who's jim lee"? He was kind enough to give me the sketch but man I know most people don't read comic books but they gotta watch out for people who don't know who comic book artists are.

It's driving interest getting sombody to know jim lee and perhaps buy a comics book out of curiosity is what it's meant for. Even if it does not end up into your best fan backpack it still will and make your day a bit better

FOR EVERYONE WONDERING: Hawkman's emblem is facing HAWKMAN'S RIGHT, not Jim's. It should look like its facing the to the left from the artist's perspective.

I would love to see Jim Lee do his own spin on Spiderman!!
@peopl19 жыл бұрын
Again, I don't see it happening due to Jim Lee being one of the head of DC. I start to notice Marvel and DC they like to keep their specific awesome artist like tide nip with a long contract. If not, I would love to see Greg Capullo's run on Spiderman at somepoint, and again I don't see it happening!! Greg even admitted in a interview where he wanted to work on his side project series, but he cant due to working for DC he can not work on anything unless its Batman.
@davidveilleux9446 жыл бұрын
I'm about 90% certain that Spiderman appeared in an early issue or two of Punisher War Journal back in the 90s when Lee was doing the art. You could check that out

Weird how an artist known mainly for drawing superheroes would draw some random billionaire guy, not that I don't like variation but what the heel is the connection between rich boy Brucey and a superhero?
@HafidzMurshidie8 жыл бұрын
Don't you know... Man this guy is dumb... Bruce Wayne is Green Lantern... It's been on paper here in Metropolis for months...
@Emohawk7078 жыл бұрын
