This is the first ever Trial I have watched, where the defendant is allowed up with the lawyers on their private talks with the judge! I can’t believe it! 😲😲😲

@JusticeAA Noela, same if the defendant stood "pro se" and no counsel.

In Florida they're aloud, they are entitled to hear all parts of their case. I can't say I agree to it but... it is what it is

The woman defence lawyer is quite rude with her face pulling and eye rolling when the other lady is speaking.

Andrea M I find her extremely rude. She isn’t very organized. Maybe she is so frustrated with herself

I take it this courtroom has no audio facility for the defendant to listen in to side bars! Terrible that he is allowed to walk about the room.
@kathydunlay16874 жыл бұрын
I've only seen 1 defendant have earphones to overhear side bars. Never before in person. Usually I've seen they aren't privy to such conversations (I think).

I believe it is the law the defendant can join sidebar. Makes sense actually. Defense counsel are representing the defendant. In the eyes of the law I believe they are one in the same. If the defendant is acting pro se, they’d be up there and in judges chambers.
@rscbmr10234 жыл бұрын
@JusticeAA I've seen many defendants wear ear phones during side bars and once before seen them go up to the judge for sidebars. The camera doesn't usually show the defendant during side bars. Even the Garcia/Magbanua trial she was wearing head phones during side bar. Some defendants may no choose to hear sidebars

Oh, who cares, lol??? He’s not an axe murderer or a mass murderer, he’s no threat to anyone (except for maybe Curtis Wayne Wright!), and the people in Florida couldn’t care less what you all think about their courtroom policies.

Every American citizen has the constitutional right to a fair trial. If there is something that could prejudice the jurors against the defendant, they have a right to address it with the court. The court is not preventing this person from watching the court proceedings. Just that they remove a pin.

I'm sorry, did I hear correctly that this woman which I'm assuming is the sister of this poor woman cannot wear a button of the deceased woman? wow, just wow. Absolutely ridiculous of this defense attorney to even say this. Shame shame on her. God forbid it be her family member that got beat with a hammer!
@annmarsh12274 жыл бұрын
Better to remove it than have amimstrail don't ya think? After all it's suppose to be a " fair trial" for all.
@thehaglin4 жыл бұрын
The courtroom is not the place for it. Impartial and presumed innocence prevail. All to keep matters fair and open no doors to mistrial 🤔
@justmedonnamarie77534 жыл бұрын
The more I see and hear, the more I believe that the justice system (while formed to protect the innocent) protects the rights of the criminal while making the innocent go through hell.
@justmedonnamarie77534 жыл бұрын
@@annmarsh1227 Sure, a fair trial for all, but surely the jurors already know that everyone on that side of the courtroom is there to represent the victim. I hardly think a pin has the power to sway a jury.
@justmedonnamarie77534 жыл бұрын
@@thehaglin I can't imagine what could be on a pin that would sway the jury. What's the worst it could say, "Justice for Teresa?"

Who can work to defend these devils? Can they swap sides after 20 minutes and both accuse the murderer?
@justmedonnamarie77534 жыл бұрын
Just a thought, but if the murderer(s) had knocked Dr. Sievers to the floor and were standing, kneeling or straddling her while beating her with the hammer, their body would take on a good bit of spatter explaining why the blood never reached the ceiling. We don't know that the first few blows actually lacerated the skin. Do we?

This courtroom is ridiculous.. how is a pin of the victim unfair to the defendant? There’s no question that she was an innocent victim. I can’t believe this judge allows such nonsense.. can’t wear a pin but the killer gets to approach the bench repeatedly.. even when there’s more than 2 attorneys, they don’t all approach the bench usually just 2.. this courtroom is shameful
@justmedonnamarie77534 жыл бұрын
@JusticeAAIsn't that a darn shame? I never thought I'd witness American citizens being offended by the American flag. What a country.
@nearlythenewswithvicki92894 жыл бұрын
It’s best to nip any possible problems in the bud immediately instead of the murderer getting to appeal every little thing and spending tax payers money. I agree its okay to ask her to remove the pin. She can wear it during the impact statements.

It's crazy how some exhibits or evidence or witnesses are being argued inadmissible or disallowed for the benefit or fair trial on the defendant. But where's fairness and fair trial for the victim??? Who is the law really for?
@LOLI10794 жыл бұрын
Taito Rani .... great question, I’m currently taking a victimology course and our judicial system is geared to uphold the rights of the accused but is continuously making progress towards victim right and resources for victims, however, victims are merely used as witnesses of the crime to help prosecute the defendant.

one thing is that a man is free until a sentence is pronounced against him, and another that this man. on trial for murder is able to rub shoulders with lawyers and other people serving in the justice process and not being cuffed in front of the judge's desk while doing so. then while i was writing this comment i realized that this murder trial is A TELEVISION SHOW, LOL
