I noticed he said you want to sand the clear off. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Do not sand off your clear. Just sand your bed until the shine is gone. That doesn’t mean the clear is gone!

@@nathanielmaldonado4725it’s still ok. You can sand the clear off and it would’ve be a problem. You just want a good mechanical adhesion to the painted surface. If you sand to bare metal, just spray etch primer or epoxy primer before

I found Speedtex Easy Sprayliner in UK. They have a video on KZfaq. Same product as SPEEDLINER now in a can. Only in UK though. You should try it. Many colours.

Awsome vid you guys !! I just gutted my Jeep TJ hoping to get this stuff and apply it to the inside of my jeep !!! Did you have to buy a special type of spray gun for this project and at what settings would u put the gun at to get that perfect thick finish ??

Thanks for the comment and support. That's great your doing your TJ. The spray gun comes in the kit when you purchase. I believe the recommend psi was 40 to 60. The kit comes with a pressure gauge as well to measure that. Hope this helps and good luck on your build brother. KEEP GETTING AFTER IT

Lol, you don't have to "take the clearcoat off". A good scuff pad is more than enough to take the shine off and give it plenty to bite to. Most of these videos fail to mention(some fail to even do it) you need to primer any bare metal before spraying the liner.

I just ordered a 4 quart kit to do the bed of our Toolcat and was wondering if it would be recommended to sand it down and then use their adhesion promoter on the whole box before spraying the liner or is it better to not use it on the areas that are scuffed. I have enough of the promoter to spray the whole box but was wondering if there is any reason not to.

Hey brother thanks for the comment. I have heard that alot of this is unnecessary. However if it was me I would scuff the whole area. I would use etching primer anywhere there is bare metal. I would then if I had it use the adhesion promoter. I am a big fan of overkill when it comes to this stuff. So hope it helps.

I am planning to do the same to my 2005 SR5 Tundra Double cab. How hard it held up over the past year? How many coats did you end up doing? How many QTS did it take to do the entire bed? Thanks

So couple things. First watch our Excursion video where we do the exterior. There is a red 4.5 inch brush makes life easy. Also it holds up well. I believe we used 6qts and applied 2 full coats and 1 spray over coat. Good luck.

I’m about to order some of this for my truck. Just wondering if you used the traction additive. Also I’ve never sprayed before how was the easiest way to clean gun in between coats? Thank you. Great video

Hey Jared. Pretty sure Ryan cleaned the gun with mineral spirits between coats. As for spraying... I usually focus on keeping the gun perpendicular to the surface and whenever possible not starting or stopping when pointed at what I'm spraying --- I'm no pro though! @@jaredbernard8654 we used an adhesion promoter in areas we couldn't rough sand. Also used an etching primer on any bare metal areas to prevent rusting. Good luck to you brother

If I remember correctly the texture was in the bottle and we just shook it up to mix it an sprayed. Pretty simple

Have a question for you guys. What would you use to remove an existing spray bedliner? Also have you used raptor liners tintable variant? I’ve used it once before and am curious what mix ratio of tint to hardener you suggest. If you’ve used it before.

We have never had to remove it but know it can be hard. Also yes we did a complete truck in the tintable raptor and have a video on our channel. The mix is 3oz per setup. Good luck to you and let us know if you need any help.

What pressure did you spray at? What did you use for clean up? When did you pull the masking off?

The pressure setting I believe was 45. We used paint thinner and sprayed it thought the gun and then sprayed air through it. The tape should be pulled of 60 to 90 minutes after. Really depends on outside temp. Thanks for the support and comment. Please remember to subscribe if you have not.

One coat won't be sufficient to cover the truck bed sufficiently. You should be able to do it with 5 qts though. Good luck brother

If I remeber correctly we used 6 or 7. We did at least 2 and half if not more coats. We highly recommend the 2 gallon kit. Good luck.

I just got mine delivered today, was going to rent an air compressor, the bottom of the gun just has threads, do I need to get a male adapter to be able to hook it up to air?

The one thing I haven’t been able to find info on is how much air pressure does it need to work? I only have a small tank and want to line my own truck. Pretty sure my tank isn’t adequate.

There is a good chance your right. We used a 30 gal husky but it ran constantly. So if the air pressure can't keep up the coat won't lay down good and you will be frustrated. The compressor has to be able to keep the psi while spraying is really the key. Good luck.

I already know the answer to this but mines is coming in Monday and I want to know do I really have to prime down my bed or can I apply it to bare metal. I'm asking bc I'm just going to scuff my walls but I'm taking the floor of my bed to bare metal

It is recommended to just use a red scuff pad and really just get the clear roughed up. We went a bit over board. Anywhere there is bare metal you need to spray with etching primer. We appreciate the support and good luck brother

Oh no I don't think so. It took us 6 qts for a 6.5 bed. I would suggest a 8 qt kit for sure.

Hi Fernando thanks for the encouraging words. There was actually very little overspray. However we would still recommend to make sure you have all areas taped and covered if you don't want it there.

Thanks for the quick response. I will be doing a thorough taping but I was wondering how much overpay could be released inside my garage. I was thinking spraying in driveway but I have nosy neighbors that could complain. I just got a couple quotes $425 and $590. This is definitely the way to go for my 09 Silverado.

We used 6qts total and it was 3 total coats I believe. It is doing alright. Thanks for the comment. We actually just painted a complete exterior of our Excursion.

I believe Raptor calls for 60 min. They also state do 3 coats then maybe after 24hrs do another coat after it is baked in. Good luck thanks for the comment and support.

What size air compressor is recommended to do the bedliner? And how many kits to do a full size truck, the whole truck, 2013 GMC Sierra 1500?

Thanks for the comment. Raptor recommends at least a 6gal that can maintain 150psi. We used 9qts of the tintable and 5 qts of the black. Good luck.

How many hours did this end up taking you? Me & a friend are going to do it to his truck. Also, how much money do you think we could sell this service of applying raptor liner to truck beds for? We are juniors in high school. :)

Hey brother this was our frist time doing it do it took alot longer than necessary. All in I would guess 20 total man hours. I believe if your good can easily get that down to 10 or even 6 hours. All cost was close to 300 including tape and such. I think it reasonable to charge 400 to 500. Again if you do more you won't have to purchase as much of the supplies each time. When we did this video we were using a 26 gallon tank. It stayed running the whole time but it kept up with the psi and worked well

Did you use an adhesion promoter before the spray liner or no?

It's done fine. As long as you aint loading unloading truck loads of rocks your fine.

Wr used a small 30 gal oil less. It worked well. Hope thi a helped

Unfortunately we do not. We highly recommend upol raptor liner. Their complete kit with hardener, material, gun and airpressure controller is the way to go.

It has held up really well. So much we did a truck exterior completely and now have done our complete truck build bed.

Hey Derek thanks for the comment and support. We bought the 2 gallon kit and used 5 bottles. We did 2 total coats and one kinda touch up areas.

We purchased the 2 gallon kit. It comes with the product, hardener and gun to spray. Yes all you need is a air compressor. I believe the complete kit was $220. Great product and thanks for the comment.

I was gonna spray my whole jeep, 20 gallon was my thought. I of course was gonna let it catch up between bottle changes

It will work. It will still run while your spraying but you can do it. When you do can you post some images to insta and tag us. We would love to see it

You sure can. It takes a bit of work. Also it wont peel off like plastidip. So once it's on it's on.

Thanks for the response! I have a 30 gal DeWalt 6 CFM at 40 psi. Will that get the job done? Planning on lining my jeep
