Things wrong with this scene 1) Kronos doesn’t awaken until the 4th book 2) Riptide isn’t the blade in the prophecy 3) It wasn’t made by Poseidon either 4) Kronos never goes into his form because that would disintegrate a city 5) There’s a reason why it takes 2 books and a blade in the single point on the body to kill this guy 6) This makes Thalia’s return less dramatic as it’s all over 7) oh wait he’s not dead but then again this scene showed how weak he is obviously

Why did Luke expect his status as Kronos' great-grandson to give him kudos points, considering Kronos is infamous for devouring his own children so they couldn't overthrow him?

Kronos is so much more terrifying in the books. When he takes over Luke’s body, and casually freezes his enemies in time while tossing everyone around like ragdolls. And Luke gets the Curse of Achilles. Kronos only loses because Luke kills himself. And Percy has to trust him to do it. What sort of writing committee would undermine all of that for a five-minute video game boss fight in the second movie?

Non-fans of the books probably looked at this scene and just thought this was a dumb climax. Actual fans of the books know how much this climax basically shits all over the entire series continuity, on just so many levels.

Ah yes skip 3 books, what could go wrong? Completely ignore the fact that Kronos needs a host, why not? Turn Riptide from Zoë Nightshades/Pleiones blade into that of Poseidon, a dude who uses Tridents as his main weapon? Sure thing. Completely ignore any deeper meaning the prophecy could have had. Yeah whatever. Make Kronos weak af, while in the books the mere Presence of his true form should have killed any mortal being? Who needs a dangerous boss anyways. Let Grover survive freaking 20m free falling without any damage? He's a goat I guess. Take away the human head of the mantikor and the whole Doctor Thorn thing? Was that even the Mantikor? Kinda kill of Luke? Who needed the dude anyways?

Zeus, a literal god, took ages to defeat Kronos; while Percy, Poseidon's demigod son, kills Kronos in less than 6 minutes. Bruh, seriously? Are you kidding me right now? Edit: The only great things about the Percy Jackson (Peter Johnson) movies was the CGI effects, animation, and music.

for those who have read the books, this scene is so frustrating. I remember when I saw it in the movies, I was like "this one has nothing to do with Cronos", "wow, it took percy 2 minutes to finish him in the movies and in the books it took years" "the cursed blade", oh no, it is not.

Kronos looks like he's made out of molten lava. His body constantly breaks apart and then reconstructs itself.

Instead of making the Dagger of Thaila the cursed blade because of Luke's Betrayal, they instead made Riptide into the Equivalent of the Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda, so that it would be the weapon that Percy uses to defeat Kronos

The first movie was okay, and honestly would have been great if it wasn't a PJO movie. This movie's very existence is a damn crime, and an enormous insult both to the author, and the fandom. Like, wtf?!?

I liked the first movie, it’s the thing that got me into the series. Then read the books and enjoyed them. Then I found out they made a second movie and wanted to see it. When I watched it I was so dissatisfied because of stuff like this where they threw the original out the window.

The Percy Jackson movies r trash. They completely blotched the plot and made it horrible. 1. Kronos was much much more powerful and it took all the gods in the book to deefeat him. He had his time abilities and his famour weapon. He wasn't something just made of rocks which justs stomps around. 2. The cursed blade wasn't Percy's sword at all. It was the dagger Luke gave to Annabethe when she was seven. 3. They had to battle the cyclopes two times and Tyson was much taller and muscular in the books The directors and writers literally had the script in their hands and still they completely botched it

I think I know why the director and writers brought Kronos in early. maybe originally they thought about making the rest of the sequels but somewhere through development they just decided it was probably not worth the effort, they just wanted wrap it up right here and the only way to do that was to bring in the main Villain of the entire franchise in early and have the Main protagonist kill him in two or three strikes.

Damn this beats the first Percy Jackson and Eragon Movie combined. I dont comment often, i avoided this movie for years, after seeing this moment, i am glad for those years. I have to live with this now. I have to write this to mend my suffering. Eventhough this scene has as much in common with the entire book series (let alone the second book) I am still trying to piece together what changed and which laws of human decency were violated. This is the first time, I wished, the americans went for german as their national language, as it is far easyer and colorful to curse in that language. Lets just ignore the atrocities, they did in the first movie and focus on this one, as much as you wish to look away. This movie is the kind of accident, where people dont gather and watch, but run away from. This is not any kind of hollywood missstep, its the second missstep after one of their biggest ones and they managed to make it worse. Not trying to cross any boudarys, but the best they could say about Hitler was: "At least he built the Autobahn" wheras about this movie you can only say: "well at least they got Annabeths hair kinda right" Well I can spice this up with the worst of me and this movie will still taste bland. SPOILER WARNING: The percy Jackson movies are basically Spoiler free for the entire series. ANOTHER SPOILER WARNING: I might drop a few spoilers about this series by comparing this completely unrelated movie with a childhood favourite bookseries by Rick Riordan. Lets ignore the corny dialgue about breathing under water and the fact, that percy hugs his new favourite brother, while 'satan' rises just a few meters beside him. Lets just ignore how bad Tysons eye looks. Kronos just doesnt look like Kronos, he doesnt have his iconic weapon, he doesnt behave like him. 'But how would he aquire his weapon, he just got resurrected' you ask? Well he rises with his Helmet on, wouldnt be far fetched to give him his scythe. Kronos as depicted in greek mythologie let alone in the books is smart, calculating and a savage. He is a right cunt. He also is the diety one of the fundamental laws of nature Time itself. spoiler: Kronos does not arise until the 4th book and he never regains his true form. If he did, he would most definetely not look like this. This apocalyptic lavaform is not even a original hollywood adaptation of Kronos. they did this before, but he looked better back then. he was several kilometers high. The fact, that Percy struggles with a Manticore but does not even hesitate to completely violate and manhandle one of the most powerful beeings in the universe is wild. That beeing got chopped up into millions of pieces and suffered for centuries, only to be resurrected by a piece of cloth and a stupid teenager. Kronos had to plot and sceme for such a long time, as the diety of time which is a cosmic insult in itself, only to be bested by a really corny boy with a metal stick. The worst part to me is, that percy sais, he got i lt from the guy, that sliced kronus up in the first place. Here is the thing. With that one sentence, the movie completes a myracle. This sentence is beyond ambiguity, its multidemensionally ambiguous. The unholy eternal grail of shit. They solved the mystery of filling a 2 gallon bucket with 4 gallons of shit. 1. Percy got the sword from Chiron. 2. In the movies and also in the books. Chiron didnt defeat Kronos, he didnt chop him up. Maybe he said something about it in the movie, but my pain threshhold got violated enough already. I wont watch it. 3. The sword probbably did not even exist, when Kronos got diced. In fact, they used his own weapon for it, a scythe, which Kronos got, to kill his father Uranus. Also another cosmic joke. 4. 'The god that killed kronos with it in the first place' are three gods, but zeus is usually credited most for it, not poseidon. All three gods got some weapons just for that task, they are not meant for humans or half gods. Poseidon would never give percy the trident, also ITS A TRIDENT NOT A SWORD. (SPOILER) The sword percy uses is historycally quite famous and has seen some shit. The characters wonder about it, but one of the great plottwists is, that it is not the cursed blade of the prophecy. The other Plottwists dont even get hinted at in the movies. Also the character of Luke gets completely butchered, he devolved from a smart, bitter, messed up kid with the ambition to overthrow a bunch of narcissist gods, that neglect their duties into a mindless cultist. The whole point of the series revolved arround that topic of responsibility etc., but now its just about killing the evil looking giant cgi beast. They got such a beast in the books and mythologie, its typhon, but its not the main villain for a reason, because such a beeing is stupid. both as a concept of a main villain and as a character, this thing really did one thing and one thing only. Spoiler it was born to smash immortal beeings and it almost succeeded against all of them at once. They only won because this thing had to wander a few thousand kilometers to olympus where poseidon had to almost loose his war in the oceans to help the gods fight it off. This is it. I could probbably write more. Its not worth it. One day i come back and make a drinking game out of this movie or punish someone by buying it as a present. Maybe for one of those guys, who are always a few steps too friendly

I love the visuals of Kronos reforming. It makes me think that had these movies done the storyline correctly, progressing all the way to the fifth book, this visualisation would have worked wonders for that scene on Olympus where Kronos is preparing to leave Luke’s body and gain his own.
