Joe Cocker great artist from the same city as me Sheffield. Watched him in several pubs and clubs before he became famous. I also had a drink and a chat with him in the Shades nightclub, just before he went to the US and sang at Woodstock. A great guy sadly missed in his home city.

christopher roman Hi Christopher, good to hear from you. I was feeling a little nostalgic, a dear friend of mine has just died, we first met when we were 7yrs old at school and we both saw Joe Cocker sing this song just after he had recorded it, and we were together when we met him in the nightclub. Known my friend for 60yrs, longer than I know anybody else. Well, my friend, I hope you and your family are all ok, and PEACE to you.

@andyelliott80274 жыл бұрын
@@fabiosozzi7226 Exactly right, you can never forget Steve Winwood, a legend ! This performance was pure gold from everyone involved, they reproduced the original sound from Joe's song ( and this was JOE'S song, I know who wrote and played this previously but Joe showed what the song should, and could be). Apart from Joe none of the people here were on the original, they were young children mostly, but they perfectly nailed it here. So let's mention them here, Brian May,Phil Collins, Steve Winwood and the three girl backing singers, from left to right ( as we see them) Margot Buchanan, Claudia Fontaine and Sam Brown. UTTERLY BRILLIANT !

I saw Joe open for Tina Turner on Nashville, mid 90's. Both opening and headliner blew the roof off the place. One of the best shows I've ever seen. You can't forget Joe and Belushi on SNL either.

I love his voice. Makes every song he sings. His own. He was a great talent. I always listen to his CD. God bless his family.

bro this is honestly so epic. Most old rockstars look sad when they're still performing by the 2000's but somehow Joe Cocker seems like he's in his prime here from a vocal perspective Also phil collins on the drums here, god damn

Dude I’ve listened to him sing this song when he was much younger and to me he sounds much better in this version when he’s older
