Paul Koslo shares behind-the-scenes stories of co-starring with John Wayne in ROOSTER COGBURN and with Clint Eastwood and Robert Duvall in JOE KIDD. In COGBURN, Koslo was part of the outlaw gang with Richard Jordan and Anthony Zerbe. In a nice revelation, Koslo says that Duke turned him into a true believer. "I never liked John Wayne as an actor," the versatile actor remembers in this exclusive interview. It wasn't until working together in Duke's reprisal of his Oscar-winning TRUE GRIT role that Koslo saw Wayne give a surprising performance that changed his mind about the beloved icon.
Filmed in Lone Pine and Old Tucson, JOE KIDD featured Koslo and an array of solid character actors and stuntmen supporting Clint. What could be "off color" during the making of Clint Eastwood's JOE KIDD for director John Sturges? When the Big Wind blows in the High Desert with Robert Duvall, something's bound to happen! Paul remembers and tells all.
One of the busiest character actors of the 1970's, Koslo (June 27, 1944-Jan 9, 2019) was a co-founder (with James Gammon and Timothy Scott) of the acclaimed Los Angeles M.E.T. Theater. Among Paul's early roles was the cult classic, THE OMEGA MAN, with then SAG President Charlton Heston who helped get Paul and William Smith some well earned back pay on the biker flick, THE LOSERS.
