you realise that the entire premise is that gender and sex are separate? I have a feeling we won't even agree on that. Regardless, your point makes no sense. Being trans means your gender does not fit the rigid framework we have for gender/sex. It doesn't mean a boy who is "feminine" and not leaking with test. The entire point actually, is that you can be born with a penis but not identify as a boy, because 'gender' is simply the abstract ideas we hold about what penis and vagina mean. Men are typically "supposed" to fit hyper rigid norms, such as being macho. Most if not all of our cultures have developed this understanding, which historically makes sense right. It was a simple way of identifying most people, and awareness of trans people and the science behind it is relatively new. Point is, your feminine classmate who hit puberty and became more masculine... well you're not saying anything there. What does that have to do with trans people?

Adam later claimed that he wanted a “conversation” and Joe turned it into a “boxing match”. He also said that it was difficult to hold to his arguments bc Joe had the ability to pull up any “pseudoscience” he wanted to bolster his own points. As a scientist, I take claims of pseudoscience seriously. This dude thinks that any piece of evidence against his position is pseudoscience and that is such a dangerous way to think in this world 🤦♂️

We have all known a 7 year old child at one point. Think back to that child. That kid knows nothing. That child is doing 8×8 multiplication assignments in their math class. To give that child hormonal injections is extremely immoral. You wouldn't let that child decide anything for themselves. I feel as if the adult trans people who say that they knew then that they should have been trans then I believe they are thinking through the mind of their adult self. They aren't saying that with their 7 year old mind but rather thinking back to when they were a child and saying yeah that's how I thought then.
@YesYES-no8kf5 жыл бұрын
@@skunkrotten7925 I mean there is a time where many people in general, that have an identity that isn't generally accepted or well educated on, can recall their young self first feeling being different. The reason that I feel injections should not be done is not because of the fact they may change their mind but the fact that they may not even want to transition. Thats the reason the language has changed from transsexual to transgender because not every person with this feeling actually wants to change their body because of it. They may still feel comfortable in their body and just not feel comfortable dressing or acting a way that is generally looked at as "masculine" or "feminine" behavior.

More people need to call out the bullshit happening around us... luckily, unlike me, Joe Rogan can do it in a respectful manner without losing his shit - I would not have such self composure when talking about the physical mutilation of children. Good on you Joe for bringing a fair discussion to the public like you have. We need more peeps like you!
@zakkcooke805021 күн бұрын
The reason you can’t talk respectfully is because you don’t have the maturity to realize most people support the wellbeing of children. In the same way you say they want to mutilate children, idiots on the other side say that conservatives want to control children’s body and take away their freedom. Obviously Adam and Joe are neither of these. They just want children to be healthy and happy and can respectfully talk about how to best achieve that through discussion and scientific analysis

He consistently said that he didn't have all the info in front of him. He has ideas, but he's trying to be as honest as he can, without hurting people. The thing is, IF there was a big shift, and if there was a scientific consensus that he was wrong, HE would change the way he thought about things. He isn't looking at the situation from "This person that was a man for 30 years is now in female sports, is it fair?", he is looking at it from "If we accept that trans people are the gender they are performing, what changes in society need to happen for that to be universal?" If Adam looked into the biology of it all, he would get to the same point Joe is at. There is a HUGE advantage to M>F sports people. But the other side is, how do we fully accept trans people and what does that look like? You can say "biology", sure, but there is an amazing swimmer that's broken records and stuff, and he is able to do it because his body functions differently. Does he deserve to have the records, or should we take them away because he had a biological advantage? More importantly, how does that imply to trans people.

We have regressed with how we treat homosexual youngsters, or even help kids sort themselves out. Instead of giving these kids time and space to work things out and reassure them, we rush to push them into boxes. This is part of our hyper sexualized society. There is money to be made and the faster we can put kids into sex boxes the more money we can make off of them. ENOUGH.

So which would you rather have - a high tech mechanical spring OR a low efficiency muscle that needs energy to work as a spring? The mechanical spring is a much higher efficiency spring than the calf, it is able to translate the power generated by your upper legs much better than your calf. ON TOP of that because it is not a muscle it will not require oxygen, so you theoretically would even tire out less.

Jesse Bogdonoff - I don’t even think Joe sparked a debate. Joe just challenged his views which I think is healthy. To me it seems like Adam generally speaks to people who agree with him which will make his points for fluid, as soon as he is challenged, he falls apart. But to say someone questioning your views out of curiosity is blindsiding, then we may as well create echo chambers and stay in them.

Jesse Bogdonoff - Understandable but that is generally how most podcasts work, it’s a discussion and this definitely applies to Joes podcast. It’s not a 6 minute video where you do prior research, it’s a 2 hour podcast where you can discuss ideas which I think Adam is aware of how joes podcast works. He seems to be in a echo chamber and cannot proceed with his points when challenged once. Look at the video where they discuss the moon landing. Adam says he did research for a video debunking it but as soon as joe ask questions about it which he should, he falls apart quickly just like he did here.

You know how you can tell when someone has little grounded confidence in what they are saying? They make a declaration and end the sentence with "right", then hurry into their next sentence which makes it look like the person they are speaking with agrees with them. Its so common now, and its incredibly annoying and obvious to anyone with a triple digit IQ. It's really a bad habit because it becomes a common thing they do subconsciously. So When they actually have a real point, it makes them seem less credible.

Q C “no, trust me” is the only way that statement makes any grammatical sense “know, trust me” doesn’t mean anything lol. Let’s replace know in that sentence with a synonym (a word of same or similar meaning) “comprehend, trust me” doesn’t make sense let’s try another in case the synonym i picked doesn’t work “realize, trust me” ye still doesn’t work don’t get me wrong I’m not big on grammar I don’t typically care as long as the message is clear enough to decipher but using know and no incorrectly does make it far harder to read.
