Fantastic interview Joe 👍, l'm an African American 66 yrs old, l drive a shuttle bus for a prominent University in upper Manhattan, l'm 6 ft 2 inches tall at one point l weighed 260 lbs, ( as much as George Forman weighed when he last fought ). My route takes me across W 125th street, there are these posters posted at various locations showing obese women of color , the message seems to be that it's ok to be fat, l'm now about 190 lbs which is good for my height, it seems like we in the black community have given up on healthy life styles. I would like to thank you and your Guest Bill Maher for having an honest discussion about this topic more people need to hear this.

This is an interview I never thought I'd see. Really looking forward to hear these two fellas. Bill Maher has really become the voice of reason and he used to be considered Uber left. I always saw him as reasonable and agree with most of what he thinks. I used to be called a bleeding heart. Now as a moderate,I'm suddenly perceived to be conservative, which is bizarre. When did believing in rational thought become so radical? Just ridiculous.

Why do we label ourselves. I love integrity no matter which Dem or GOPs. Bernie is learning from countries that r doing well. Workers comp would be gone but ins owns politicians. Sen John McCain was trying to get campaign refinance reform before tumor was found. Sadly we dont have any that r not greedy with his bravado! Hard not to feel to repay $10 mill donation on law making. Schools could get campaign $ in my Disneyland brain. Our schools r a joke compared to other countries.

Yeah. Frustrating that moderates (me as well) are being labeled as either "leaning right" or, in some isolated cases, "far right", for just holding views that aren't firmly aligned with the leftist people's personal world views. It's the increasing black-or-white view of Western politics - the "if you're not fully on my side, you're a horrible person" way of thinking that is not good for everybody involved.

In 3 months I lost 85 pounds and am in the best shape of my life. It's important to keep the conversation going about self discipline when it comes to health and ones choice. Now I'm much happier with my life and carry myself much differently. I'm 23 now and can't wait to see what 24 looks like. Thank you again! 😂 exactly. He could barely make eye contact with Joe. He went to Jamie because he was weaker. The only thing he said about him was a joke “we’ve been here 16 hours and the only thing that got his attention was that (a hot Britney Spears)”. He didn’t look to him because he though Jamie was smarter than Joe, it was because it’s easier to look Jamie in the eyes than it is the Silverback gorilla Joe Rogan is lol. There was fear at the start and contempt at the end. Bill made it very clear when he said, “I don’t need you, I have my own fans”, (even though the reason he was on was to promote it) and that his people made him go on the show so that he can achieve his mission, “so will you do my show?”. As soon as he said “ok”, he left. I think Bill requested only 2 hours, because he didn’t want to go on the show, but after the talk he finally felt comfortable and Joe reminded him by kicking him off “hey, don’t you have to leave?”. Bill said “oh?! Um, yea it’s a work week for me”. Then it all went downhill. Lol it was a great episode though. They might not like each other, but I’m a huge fan of Joe and Bill. Greenman_mk - well it’s also economics. Same with music. Back in the day, if you wanted to create anything good, let alone succeed, you had to spend thousands on top-shelf equipment and studio time, marketers. So a TV show or news segment required sooo much money. Now a musician or interviewer can use their own money to record and can market it themselves. We have new problems. But the old ones were bad: the creativity required millions of bucks so the structures had a corporate/crony/nepotism vibe over time.

@@jadezee6316 or he just tries to be kind to people. I've also seen many times when he disagrees with someone completely but still debates them and treats them with respect. Also the smartest thing you can do is admit you don't know something and say your not sure. Most people just pretend they know everything when really it's only their opinion. I think people focus way to much on politics. Many people think that what makes them a good person because they are democrat or republican. However there are many bad people on both sides. People like this oftentimes think they're smarter than everyone else and forget that what really makes them a good person is being kind to people and being respectful. These people just assume they are good because of politics and don't try to be kind to people. All your life your going to have to work and coexist with people you disagree with and even people you don't like. If you can't be kind to people you don't get along with your going to make your life really hard and cause a lot of problems. The truth is you can't change other people and make them do what you want but you can change your own actions and still treat people with respect. Yeah, the episode on club random with Dr Phil is a funny mismatched embarrassing moment for Maher. The difference in Joe and Maher is Joe is a nice guy with an open mind and Maher is a hard core know-it-all. Joe is approachable and Maher crams his opinion gown your throat. Maher rubs people the wrong way with his liberal pious and Joe just likes to talk to people and learn and observe rather than slam and correct like Mahers done his whole career. #texaslovesjoerogan

This is a great conversation that shows the difference in thought process between new media (Joe) and the old way (Bill). The belief in short attention spans, the reverence for the panel or TV formats, the contempt for dialogue that isn't debate style or somewhat adversarial, and so on. It's a fascinating example of how folks in the old system just can't see it and don't get it. Bill saying: I'm worried about what we could talk about for 3 hours. Joe saying: we just talk like a conversation. That's it man, they can't see it. Even 2-3 years ago the folks on TV would make podcasters come to them. Now the power has flipped and Bill is going on JRE to see what it's about and it's the only real way to get Joe on his show. It's the first sign of the tipping point tipping.
@littleripper3124 жыл бұрын
I like to be more impressed with people from the old world who are able to adapt and understand like Joe. He was ahead of his time and while everyone was making fun of podcasts he was crushing it. I also love that he can have strong views on something and still be open to change or modify them if a good argument is presented. So many people aren't able to do that both from old world and new world generations.
@sagashilabs4 жыл бұрын
@@littleripper312 Yeah it's interested because they're only 11 years apart in age. In a way, Joe kind of adapted, but it's more that he opted out of how things used to be done when those were still the best ways to make money. For example, quitting acting, no longer going on panel shows, working at the Comedy Store for no money while on a sitcom when it wasn't cool and all the comedians there were trying to get sitcoms. It's more like the world caught up with Joe and technology enabled him to be the creator and distributor, whereas before you had to play ball with distributors and that meant making compromises Joe wouldn't. He still did Fear Factor, a man has to pay his bills, but his interest in people, and staying ground has finally aligned with what the world is starting to reward.

Humans have no attention span so I'm going to go on a show and just talk for 2 hours. Bill Maher constantly contradicts himself and having a massive ego is the only possible way he think what he says is important. He also calls himself progressive and libertarian. Not possible. Progressive politics is purely about power and redistributing it, often to solve problems and power imbalances that don't actually exist. It's the media that doesn't have an attention span and they are the narrative creators driving the conversations. Or they were.
@codyb.30154 жыл бұрын

@UltimatePowa4 жыл бұрын
@@RJT80 @R T Bill was moreso saying that its either extremely long attention spans, or hardly any at all with very few in the middle. I believe that to be accurate, for the most part. The reason people's attention spans are fucked is due to hourly bells dismissing everyone everyday for almost a decade, and advertisements every 10-15 minutes on all TV they watched from before they can remember. After getting away from the school bell and tv ads for a long enough period of time, people can regain their attention span. Depending on what games people chose to play while growing up also greatly affects their attention span. Point is there a vast market in both sides of those with attention and those without, the trick is how to please both, which is what Bill was trying to do.

She’s a moderate, practical and accomplished politician who has done what she has promised she would do on her campaigns and has a track record of working in the interests of her constituents and not in her donors (unlike Hillary). She’s also borderline conservative in some of her views which is a step away from Hillary. Klobuchar would be able to win many swing states that flat out rejected Hillary cause klobuchar is from the heartland and not from the “liberal political elite”. It’s warren who would get eaten alive by trump I think bill Maher is spot on again with saying klobuchar is the right candidate. Only a moderate will defeat trump not a far left Bernie or Elizabeth. Also klobuchar has legit planned policies she’s already laid out that aren’t fairy tale deficit bombs like Warren and Bernie
