@@loisherzog8803 ya I mean money and its power to corrupt are pretty universal (and let’s face it, pretty American too) so idk how exactly things would have played out in the US. Some US states have solved the problem by allowing the police to confiscate whatever they want without having to return it. It's enough that the police say that they suspect a person of a crime, or that the property in question has been acquired by some (unknown) illegal means. It's legal theft, so there is no corruption! What an invention.

@@lorimiller4301 I agree, but at the same time, when they die, like in the case of my poor Shih-Tzu just 3 months ago, it is heartbreaking, it's like losing a part of your family, a part of you. Now he lives only in my memories and videos and pictures I took of him. He was so miserable I couldn't stand it, he barked in pain. They offered euthanasia right away, we immediately took him back home, cause we were not ready. They also said they could remove his eyes, with no guarantee of him getting better, no, his condition would only worsen after the operation. He was already deaf, practically no communication. When we returned with him to home, he barked in pain, his eyes were bloody red, there was puss coming out of his left eye and he had a growth on it. When no one touched him he barked, he was calling his family... we petted him, but his eyes must have hurt because even though he was petted constantly, he would finally bark again. When I write this I'm opening my wound on my heart. I gave him the best food ever, one he couldn't eat normally and I and my parents went with him. My parents stayed behind and I stayed with him till the end. Those images of him being essentially killed are burned into my mind. I hugged him through the process because I wanted him to know, that we will meet again on the other side, wherever that may be. In conclusion, pets are awesome, but when they go away it sucks, sucks immensely. I wish I will die before my parents do.

What stands out to me in this case is their isolation. I think it speaks to the importance of having a few meaningful social interactions in life. Perhaps if they had a close friend or a family member nearby, they could have spotted something peculiar in the couple’s behavior and even intervene, as appropriate. On another note, this is another reminder that mental illness discriminates no one. No amount of money, beauty or power are able to save someone from mental disorders. Therapy and/or medication appears to be the best thing we have available. Great analysis as usual, thank you Dr. Grande.❤️

One can take concious control of their mind with regular meditation. control of thinking eliminates mental illness.( negitive thinking) No matter the situation, if ones thoughts are controlled( off) there will be peace of mind. Many have sort of a romantic affair with mental illness. They've come to appreciate it. It's like an old friend. That is an insane form of ego. There are countless mental health professionals whom delight in giving a specific diagnosis of mental illness and an equal number of patients whom appreciate the diagnosis. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️ 🙏🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️🌅

There are many Yogi's who have mastered their minds with control of thinking. Turning off thought for extended periods produces Spritual ecstasy which no man made drug can touch. There are some meditators that spend years and a majority of their days sitting in meditation. Asrams all over the world are dedicated for that purpose. It's so powerful and intoxicating they strive for nothing else. They feel complete and whole and feel they lack for nothing. I recommend to everyone to meditate everyday with regularly. Dr. Grand...thank you for your intellectual interpretation of the 2 people in this case, who chose to isolate themselves from any, much needed, outside interactions, resourceful outside help from loved ones & others hearts, that could have ultimately intervened in helping them onto a better path & a better outcome. I agree that the availability of so much money was definitely a factor in building a fortified life style that only exasperated their mental stability for their worst outcome of their lives. Possibly "gems" thrown about the room, was her way of releasing the fact, of realization within herself, that "money" was in fact in control of both their fate.

I have bi polar and that term is a great way to describe a manic episode. When im in the middle of one ill find a project that usually includes creating or building something and for the next few months spend all day and night working on it non stop. It always ends up being a postive experience as i channel a huge amount of creative energy into my project at the time. As well as learning new skills in order to be able to do it. Ive ended up learning how to grow weed and turning my bedroom into a functioning grow room, learning how to cool dmt and turning my kitchen into a chemistry lab, turning my living room into a fortress with tapestries hung everywhere, lighting, air-conditioning, humidity control, air fitering systems all of it operated by remote controls as well as housing my bed, furniture and whatnot. As well as getting into extreme shape by working our non stop, learning about suppliments/vitamin regimes and skin care products/chemical peels. The onlt bad part is when the mania eventually ends I swing into a huge depressive state and all the creative energy turns into extreme depression and lack of motivation.

@@nickyblue4866 haha. Well slow down there Mr Psychedelic Walter White. Funny what you did to your bedroom, like you needed every possible space! Is your bathroom going to be where the nitrous oxide pump is? Ha. While I actually didn't mention in my comment, I was actually diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder as well. The pandemic lockdowns made me go into a bizarre state of fixing up my apartment too. I didn't get around to a chemistry lab... Instead I made everything automated, to the point of got the Starship Enterprise going on in here. The manic renovations phrase, origin is a little dark.. So in Australia we have a slang term for like really drunk and disoriented, being munted. And unfortunately one of my good friends had a partner addicted to Klonopin (the person would eat an entire box of 100 of the 2mg in a single day!! They should have been sent to the military for experimentation honestly, it's insane they survived that and put up with the withdrawals). Anyway, the guy would go to target, buy cheap book-shelves, return home and attached them to the wall... Somewhat crooked, he'd wait for my friend to get home, believing he'd get praise for his fine klonopin induced craftsmanship.. But instead my friend was understandably pissed off, and started calling them munted renovations.. Lol. Of course the guy would argue back and specificly say "they're not munted.... They're good!!!". After my friend saw my place with all of the "actually impressive work" done, we realised this is what manic renovations are compared to munted renovations.. Now we have a bunch. Stoned renovations. Tweaked renovations. You name it. Compare renovations, it's a window into the soul. And yes, like you, I experience the depression as a come down.. Unfortunately though whatever is in my head still keeps the mania going for a few days, causing "mixed episodes"... That are horrendous, is the only way to describe them. Anyway, cheers for the laugh, stay safe. :)
@grimslade0
@grimslade0 2 жыл бұрын
Side note (at least for me): the manic phase projects tend to be very self-serving. This is why I watch Dr Grande; I binge watched everyone one of his videos and learned a lot about the state of Psychological research (and I thank him for whole heartedly for that, brilliant content)... People are sick of hearing me not diagnosing anyone and merely speculating... But going back to the self serving point, I found unfortunately the grandiose activities I got up to hindered my ability to focus on my other responsibilities.. So yes, while I admit I've done some fun things and have learnt a lot along the way. I compare it to having "extremely strong ADHD", I think it's important for some people to be a bit mindful of what they're doing and why they're doing it, otherwise you might just go off the damn rails. Haha... Yeah, mania can be a harsh mistress, even when you feel very accomplished..... Glad I learnt this lesson during various lockdowns, before doing something very aloof when l really needed to focus on other things.

It is my belief that true and lasting happiness can be achieved by helping others, as you get to share in their joy. Obscenely rich people on the whole spend their lives on trivial self gratifying pursuits whilst trying to ignore the starving masses around them and stressing about those same people trying to take from them.

I was in the southwest peninsula in Costa Rica for several days. The temperature was only about 89 degrees, not really too hot for a native Texan. However the humidity was about 99%. It was the most miserable few days of my life. There was no A/C and no place to get away from it. There was no way to be cool by perspiration as it would not evaporate anyway. How someone from the States could live there with no A/C, I cannot imagine. It would have made me crazy too. Edit: Okay, just saw the remark about altitude. Point. I would have to see it myself to believe it was any better.

I made a home at 700 meters overlooking Costa Ballena and Uvita in Southern Costa Rica. From my neighbors driveway you can see the Boracayan where they lived. Not only myself but many other expats I saw first-hand struggle with the challenges of living in that type of environment as a foreigner. Several times I have witnessed the breakdown of mental health and sanity from the long list of intense aspects both physical and psychological. I have four years in total living in the pueblo since 2011 and could not fathom what kind of stress, anxiety and temptation having that league of wealth at my disposal would exacerbate.

I think she was guilty because he had his ear plugs in when he was shot. I feel badly for both of them though. The shared mental illness explains my grandmother. She was always paranoid, but her daughter was a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic. They lived together and fed off of each other's delusions. My grandmother died at 95 with a knife under her bed because my aunt made her belief all kinds of crazy things.
