That was not really a repair because if it had been a true repair there would have been a stuck roll pin or a broken roll pin. none of the screws would have come out. there would have been several of those screws stuck and then stripped out they would have required the use of a torch or screw extractor. Your situation was simply a disassembly replacing a part and a reassembly. You are a blessed man🙂👍

Yes that wasn't an accurate representation of how things usually go.

I thought it would be more trouble. But I'm not complaining

Replacing bearings is a never ending job. Seems like everytime I go to hook on the disc, it needs a bearing or 2 replaced. Just put a new one in the front wheel of my quad, a couple days ago as well. Not bad if it all comes apart nicely. Take care Brother

This thing I think if you turn too much with it in the ground it takes those bearings out. It seems to anyway. It's a more pleasant job if stuff comes apart easy like you said... I think I replaced a bunch of them not that long ago and the bearings must be kind of crappy that I used.

Little different from the kinze. Sure came apart nice! Storing inside a barn to prevent corrosion 😀👍🏻. Second planter like mine 😉

Your kinze us probably a couple decades newer than my ol 7000. I think back in the day they were darn near the same.

I replaced mine with a press wheel conversion kit from Shoup parts that used a 5/8 bolt to hold press wheels on and you can offset the two wheels 2 inch ahead. Bearing is 3 times the side of pin bearing and so much simpler to replace the bearing or change press wheel style.

If I ever change the tail wheel arms I'd probably get something like that. The other planter has that style with the t handle

You made that look easy. Roll pins and I don't have a good history. Lol Doc

I like roll pins when they don't grenade on the way out. This thing has gone through a bunch of roll pins in the transmission. A design flaw from the cobbler that built it. I put a grade eight in its place and haven't had any trouble.

When I worked on my closing wheels, they were all the phillips screws so I replaced them all. It was not worth the time to fight with them, lol.
@AgWildNebraska3 жыл бұрын
There was one that had the Phillips heads. If it was going to give me trouble I was just going to get a whole new wheel. But they all came out by hand with a screwdriver.

I had enough with some of my old ones and just replaced them but mine the tires were shot and the aluminum was cracking. Some of those with the screw heads can really test your nerves
@AgWildNebraska3 жыл бұрын
That one with the Phillips screws should have been chucked. Can you believe I got every one of those screws out with just a screwdriver? I think planting curves is hard on those little bearings back there.

@@AgWildNebraska yeah usually i always have to use the impact driver and beat the crap out of em. They make alot of trips around going across the field
