If my memory of mob history is correct the westies was an Irish gang that Paul Costalano gave permission to commit crimes using his name as long as the westies gave him his percentage share of profits. And the westies did a lot of killings using Paul Costalano's name
@nmknmk8936 Жыл бұрын
Before all that happened the westies were controlled by Micky Spillane. He never want the Italians over on the west side, Jimmy Coonan of the westies hated Micky Spliane because Micky use to boss Jimmy dad around and embarrass him. Jimmy teamed up with Roy DeMeo Ann’s they hatched a plan to what Micky and Jimmy would take over the westies. In turn of all this the westies went on a tirade of killings and shake downs even killing a Jewish gangster Ruby Stein and took his black book and set out to collect owed money. At this time the Javits Center was getting the ok to build among other buildings too and the Italian mob wanted in but with out headaches so the got Roy DeMeo to broker the meet up in Tommasos restaurant in Brooklyn and Big Paul ask Jimmy did he kill Ruby Stein, Jimmy demoed it and Big Paul gave them his blessings to do business under the Gambino name but in turn they had to stop the killings and the unwanted attention and then the Italian mob took over most of the building of the west side with the westies getting a cut and they were called upon to whack out anyone that got in the way and that ran good until Jimmy tried to frame Micky Featherstone for a murder in which turn Micky flipped and Jimmy ended up getting life in prison. He’s still alive in a PA jail
