LIVE COVERAGE: Robert Durst Testifies Live For The Murder of Friend Susan Berman
Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened on May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

This is like pushing jelly up a wall. He’s as sharp as a tack when it suits him- dates of hearings, 39 years not 40 since Kathy disappeared. But claims to forget even knowing what his charges are? Surely this is not lost on the jury? He’s so belligerent . The whole ‘hypothetical’ thing about lying was a real home run for the prosecutor IMO but I hope the jury don’t think he is bullying the witness. It’s also interesting how his hearing has improved in this section. He only looked at the screen when you could see him thinking about his reply.

But all Lewin is doing is proving he tells stories and also impeaching him on The Jinx which Lewin points out Bobs day to day lies in that documentary as well further proving anything he said on the Jinx is unreliable including the confession. Bob told 2 different versions of the same story on the documentary one day apart and Lewin himself points this out. It’s narcissistic entitlement and the arrested development that goes with it. He has been tricked by the devil into believing that dominance and power makes a person superior. It’s the biggest lie and most men have bought it. When earth evolves into a higher, more Godly dimension men will be left behind. They’re too low and won’t survive.

With or without a conviction, although the last option would be the happy case, one thing remains in history! Not the towers built by the Durst family from a grandfather who came from Gorlice with empty pockets and great American dreams, than this representative element as Robert Durst, a scientific case, for what it means lack of family cohesion and maladaptation to the child's skills, in the pursuit of fame and fortune. How his family does read our comments here, knowing how much was the work and sacrifice of the grand-father. A big shame.

I didn’t know Durst was presently married. Can someone tell me how to spell her name? The prosecutor has demonstrated that Durst cannot he believed, at least his answers that cause reason to believe he is guilty or anything incriminating.

While I disagree with you that the “prosecution sucks” , and I’m grateful to live in a country where we can disagree, and I do think his defense team is the very best a millionaire like Durst in The Untied States of America can afford. They got him off before, after dismembering a man and throwing his body parts in a bay and I would caution anyone thinking he will be easily convicted here. I do think in my opinion that the reaction Durst and his team had in the Galveston Texas jury’s verdict of not guilty says it all. It wasn’t relief , it was shock !

Give me a break. Lewin decimated Durst within the first 15 minutes of cross examination when he got Durst to admit that he would lie, and has lied, under oath about "important things" during this trial. Then got Durst to admit that if he had killed Kathy or Susan, he would never admit it. Talk about obliterating someone's credibility, it doesn't get any better than this.

@@TheMaleficent1 And this is proof beyond a reasonable doubt for you to find someone guilty of murder. Imbeciles like you should never ever be given responsibilities in life, let alone be put in a jury. Trials should be held with the ethics and methodology of science, you also don't ask a bunch of morons about the validity of a scientific theorem. Btw, you imply that you'd find it credible for someone to dishonestly admit guilt of murder? Imagine if he stated that yes he would admit guilt, that would make him more credible in your eyes? What a clown you are.

@@TheMaleficent1 there are certain people who are rabid Durst defenders. Could only speculate as to why. But you’re absolutely right - Lewin destroyed him, just as he did Loftus, and it was beautiful to watch.

Lewin is a clown and is totally overacting. He makes lame attempts to paint a picture to the jury that Durst was physically abusive to Kathy when clearly he was not. Taking a purse and coat to Kathy and saying, “it’s time to go” is far from an act of violence. Lewin thinks that he is a star but unfortunately for him, he is not. A narcissist, yes indeed. Durst will without a doubt get the last laugh, no question.

So he only says that he grabbed her by the hair because he was told it would make him more interesting and he was told that they'd only edit the footage to make him look like a good guy but he also said those things because he wanted people to get the real story. I have no idea how questioning a witness about clear discrepancies is an overreaction. I believe the lawyer would be doing a lame job if he did not confront Durst with his own words.
