@Crazilystupidart 08 It was clever phrasing because not every person thinks they are in the "4 people" category and John never has to explicitly say. If they ask all he has to do is be slightly evasive like "Come on man, you know" or something. As a huge Mulaney fan and recovering addict, this special was really weird to watch. Like, if the exact special, word for word, was done by another comedian Id get it. But it was super out of place for him. It felt weirdly aggressive, needlessely cruel, and just...off. I get that hes telling stories from the perspective of his coked out mind and its not like its offensive or anything, its just.....idk. My fiancee and I watched it together and had to stop halfway through and continue the next day. It was like 2am and we were just looking at each other like, "is this real life?" Its like a bizarro Mulaney

@@ohheyemmireally? I thought it was his best special yet! He definitely seemed more mellow because he wasn't on cocaine like in previous specials but I didn't get an aggressive vibe at all. I've never tried drugs so I watched it as a sober person. I went back and forth between laughing, feeling heartbroken about some of the scenarios, relieved he made it through, and then laughing again. I would love to understand what exactly you found aggressive in the way he performed it. No shade or trying to be a jerk, just genuinely curious. I like exmaning things to death! Lol

Plus comedians are just a different breed in terms of how they understand each other and like 9/12 of those people he's talking about are comedians That "over zoom" thing would be a shitty thing to say to a lot of people who don't see the humor in it, but I'm almost positive he's referring to Nick Kroll who's one of his oldest friends and has probably already laughed about it with him many times

I'd been watching all these clips of him making fun of the intervention hoping I'd come across one where he thanks them and I'm glad he does in this. Because a bunch of comics who set aside their entire personalities and helped a fellow comedian get out of addictions deserve recognition beyond anything he can do. This is why I'm weird about people doing me favors or giving me things.... Too many times people have thrown it in my face or brought up the shit they did for me I didn't even ask for. Hahahah to be fair, in Johns case they had to step in and it's great they did. Not cool to bring it up tho or rub it in his face tho (I'm sure a few of them of them have/do... And it's prob the ones he talked about "cutting from the list") Anyway, good for John I'm happy for him. I'm in active recovery myself and love to see people get help. NGL tho I have a sneaking suspicion he just learned to dial it back and hide it better. Which is still good tho fr, it'd be real hard to quit everything while going thru a divorce. Especially how publicly he's going thru everything. Plus he seems like the type who got a rush from tricking everyone and being able to get away with it (me too) that's a dangerous mindset... But that rush in itself is addictive.

Never once have I brought it up to any of them and one of the dudes brings it up whenever we talk again. Most of them I have zero contact with anymore, yet I regret nothing. I was placed there because it was not time yet for them. Why... idk, prob the same reason why I got locked up for stupid shit only to have the guy who went to my job in my place die 3 days later and it would have 100% been me poisoned so... I want to know who the 8 over zoom were. I don’t know why I have that curiosity. Like not only does no one have a right to know no one but him needs to know, right? But there’s just a small part of me that goes “yeah but who John? You can tell us” 😂😂
