He was the best. I have yet to hear a musician say even an unkind syllable in regards to John Peel. Perhaps because he worked as a DJ for 40 years, helping anyone who was anyone in music find acclaim, exposure, and attention from both the press and their fans. For over 4 decades. Could be part of why he was so well thought of.

Also the above list is just a small number of things I felt like listing in a few minutes. Hopefully you were kidding and just being facetious when asking that question, but for those who really don't think women have ever invented anything, well then that little list above is for that person. Also one should remember that women weren't allowed to work outside the home and before that go to school from the first day of colonization of day the U.S. until the 1950's and really it wasn't considered proper until much later (other than cleaner and teacher, but not after you were married). So considering that men have a bit of a head start. However, considering that women are 50% of the population and only having been allowed and not disrespected for working outside of the home and getting education; today in 2020 hold 10% of patents! So imagine if men were held back, for say the next 250 or more years from working outside the home or getting further educational training and also during that 250 years men would be given the full job of caring for their offspring and doing all the housework, cleaning, cooking and preparing meals for those 250 years; just imagine how much more women would be inventing in they were given the headstart men had?

Not to be one of those snobs, but John Peel championed bands like CAN, who's influence can still be felt in rock music today, some 40+ years after their peak years. Simon Cowell, on the other hand, championed Kelly Clarkson. I suppose her "influence" is felt in modern music as well, but that's not a cause for celebration in her case. It's a cause for alarm. I think that might be why people view them differently.
