Jordan is the reason why I joined the Catholic Church when I was 19. He took both The Bible and Tradition seriously, and that appreciation pointed my mind, and eventually my heart, to the real love of Jesus. Seeing Jordan now draw closer to Him, especially through the help of his wife, Tammy, means that we must pray for him all the more! Thank you God for Jordan Peterson!

You can't take Roman Catholic tradition and Scriptures seriously at one and the same time. RC traditions - the traditions of men - are opposed to the Bible in critical areas of doctrine. Read the epistles of Romans and Hebrews. The Mass is heresy!

When the Catholics propose a plan to provide salvation for ALL of mankind who have ever lived, while providing for the earthly ordinances like baptism, they MAY have a chance at being "relevant"!! Clarification of Terms Jesus - Christ The name of Jesus is the name of one who was a man but saw the face of Christ in all his brothers and remembered God. So he became identified with Christ, a man no longer, but at one with God. The man was an illusion, for he seemed to be a separate being, walking by himself, within a body that appeared to hold his self from Self, as all illusions do. Yet who can save unless he sees illusions and then identifies them as what they are? Jesus remains a Savior because he saw the false without accepting it as true. And Christ needed his form that He might appear to men and save them from their own illusions. In his complete identification with the Christ -- the perfect Son of God, His one creation and His happiness, forever like Himself and One with Him -- Jesus became what all of you must be. He led the way for you to follow him. He leads you back to God because he saw the road before him, and he followed it. He made a clear distinction, still obscure to you, between the false and true. He offered you a final demonstration that it is impossible to kill God's Son; nor can his life in any way be changed by sin and evil, malice, fear or death. And therefore all your sins have been forgiven because they carried no effects at all. And so they were but dreams. Arise with him who showed you this because you owe him this who shared your dreams that they might be dispelled. And shares them still, to be at one with you. Is he the Christ? O yes, along with you. His little life on earth was not enough to teach the mighty lesson that he learned for all of you. He will remain with you to lead you from the hell you made to God. And when you join your will with his, your sight will be his vision, for the eyes of Christ are shared. Walking with him is just as natural as walking with a brother whom you knew since you were born, for such indeed he is. Some bitter idols have been made of him who would be only brother to the world. Forgive him your illusions, and behold how dear a brother he would be to you. For he will set your mind at rest at last and carry it with you unto your God. Is he God's only Helper? No, indeed. For Christ takes many forms with different names until their oneness can be recognized. But Jesus is for you the bearer of Christ's single message of the Love of God. You need no other. It is possible to read his words and benefit from them without accepting him into your life. Yet he would help you yet a little more if you will share your pains and joys with him, and leave them both to find the peace of God. Yet still it is his lesson most of all that he would have you learn, and it is this: _There is no death because the Son of God is like his Father. Nothing you can do can change Eternal Love. Forget your dreams of sin and guilt, and come with me instead to share the resurrection of God's Son. And bring with you all those whom He has sent to you to care for as I care for you._ A Course In Miracles (1976) Author: Jesus Christ

@@neilrowland5165 Your opinion appears to be more important than the facts, at least in your own mind. The Pope, in his attempt at compassion and attempt at popularity, that’s giving him every latitude, speaks out of both sides of his mouth, particularly when he doesn’t know what he is talking about. What he knows about the state of the climate change emergency, he could write on the back of a Vatican issued Martin Luther stamp. Understand this; the Pope is, by hook and by crook, the chosen leader of the Holy Catholic Church. In that position, established by God, in this instance, much in the same way as the establishment of Jacob and Joseph Ben Caiaphas. In position by whatever means, to do God’s Holy Will. I pray every day for Pope Francis, whilst still cognisant of his many faults and failings, which are readily apparent, much like my own faults and failings as I am not a Pharisee. I follow his every word, even in the issued encyclicals that he only signs. Be careful with what you believe to be from the seat of Peter. Determine the difference between Dogma and merely opinion. Telling God, the Pope told me, ain’t going to cut it, when Jesus asks; what did I say? Then followed by; what was the infallible revealed truth professed by all the Popes throughout the ages?

My parish church was consecrated in 1963 and while it looks modern compared to the older traditional churches it has a beautiful gold Tabernacle is up high front and center of the sanctuary. The altar is marble and raised 3 steps higher than the rest of the sanctuary. There is a Communion rail made of marble and the sanctuary gate has a beautiful ChiRo in the center. In addition , the idea that the RCC is the church that Christ setup, and that all believers must submit to it, is also rejected in the Scriptures in the strongest possible manner. The RCC bears no resemblance to the church which is portrayed in the NT. Their view is only obtainable if one approaches the Scriptures with such rigid theological misconceptions that they must “mis-interpret” these verses to conform it to their own theological system. If you are absolutely commit yourself to the LITERAL, GRAMMATICAL, HISTORICAL HERMENEUTIC you will be able to understand the "Full Counsel of God" and come to the conclusion the church is not the RCC. KEY POINT: Literal, grammatical, historical hermeneutic is the same approach used in ordinary communication. In fact American jurisprudence rests upon this interpretive approach. The dictionary defines literal interpretation that is "based on the actual words in their ordinary meaning...not beyond the facts. In addition, it should be noted in passing that literal interpretation has been unfairly criticised on the basis that it adheres to a wooden, inflexible literalism that fails to allow for types, symbols, figures of speech and genre distinctions. Literalism does not preclude or exclude correct understanding of types, illustrations, apocalypses, and other genres within the basic framework of literal interpretation. It is not too difficult to account for the widespread approval of the spiritualizing or allegorizing method adopted by many conservative theologians as well as liberal and ROMAN CATHOLIC expositors. Fundamentally its charm lies in its flexibility. The interpreter can change the literal and grammatical sense of Scripture to make it coincide with it own system of interpretation. Shalom

@@myriamc. The catholic church, itself, is in direct opposition and contradiction of, and fundamentally disobeys muuuuuuuuch of the commandments and guidance given in The Bible. The catholic church is a verrrrrrrrrrrry flawwwwwwwwwed institution, created by man, and has been grossly perverse throughout its history. The institution is built around benefitting and serving those highest up in its hierarchy, which is very political. It is rife with sin. It is corrupt to the core. Hence its infestation of pedophiles for hunnnnnnnndreds of years, or longer, and the aiding and abetting of these wicked and demonic pedophiles, and cover up of their abominable sins and crimes, which is at leeeeeeeeast as bad as the molestations, themselves. The church has been a haven for demons for a lonnnnnnnng tiiiiiiiime

I like Jordan Peterson, and think that he should attend more Catholic services and talk with more priests. There’s so much depth in our church. if he wants to remain a critical thinker, that’s OK because God created us that way God gave us all different abilities so that we can learn from each other. If we have compassion and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us without the Holy Spirit guiding us we’re lost. We are lost without the Holy Spirit.

I left the Catholic Church 40 years ago. I started reading the bible. Nevertheless the number one issue which turns people from church is the lack of love of Christians. There is the famous story that Ghandi tried to find out more about Jesus at a church in South Africa and he was refused admission. On KZfaq I see so called Christians attacking pastors they disagree with, and some of the stuff is vicious. Once you follow Christ’s command to love people things would improve.

The high priests tried to catch Jesus in a political trap. Hoping he would say he was more important than Caesar. He knew what they were up to and instead said "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God". That part of the Bible should have caused the Pope to stay away from politics. His desire to change the Lord's prayer was not holy, but arrogant. The part of the prayer that says" lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil", is a plea to ask God to protect us from ourselves. After all Jesus was made man. So he knew how easy it is for a man to run away with himself. The Catholic faith gave me a foundation to start from. The bottom line of Christianity is to have God in your life, and keep God in your life.

The Catholic Church didn't quite "lose faith" in its great mission. Rather, it decided to trust the advice of marketing experts over the power of its own doctrine. It was a huge mistake...but it wasn't the Church's first mistake. In Québec (use to be very very catholic) people don't read the bible. You can't even get one at church! Of those left in church (mostly 60yo+) a lot are catholic only 1h/week and you can see the rush to get out of the church as soon as it getting close to the end. On the other hand, I am gratefull that the church, community is still there at least the flame is not completely out, there is still hope.
@Sunshine-mf6pd2 ай бұрын
You're right about Québec. It used to be the cradle (berceau) of Catholicism in Canada. I grew up with the Novus Ordo Mass (the Mass of Vatican 2). When I discovered the Traditional Mass, I thought I was in Heaven. There's a very big difference between the two. The New Mass is more like a Protestant service. Now the Pope is trying to eliminate the Traditional Mass. People who go to the old Mass read the Bible and also use a Missal, which is available in Latin with the modern language beside it. As you say, there is still hope.

I love both Eastern Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism because they are both apostolic, and, therefore, closer to the original church than any protestant sect. My goal is to understand what the original Christians believed and how they worshiped. In a lot of ways Eastern Orthodoxy is purer theologically, but the Roman Catholic church is universal (vs divided by ethnic groups).

After several decades I recently decided to go back to church. I went several times to the local Catholic church and each week the priest's sermons were political campaign speeches, telling the congregation which side of politics was the evil side (the conservatives, of course) and which way we should vote (vote left, of course). I told him that faith is above politics, and that I came to church to worship God and to have my faith encouraged, not to be lectured on politics and told how to vote. He told me the content of his sermons is ordered by the bishop and that he cannot disobey the bishop. So I decided to go to the local Anglican church and I was pleased that the Anglican priest's sermons are not about politics but about faith. He encourages people's faith, paraphrased roughly in his words, "so that individuals may be in a sense transfigured like Christ and his disciples during the transfiguration, and rise above the affairs of the world and be able to see for themselves what is true and right and good to do." That was a little over a year ago and since then I have been attending services regularly. I even have Holy Communion.
