Te quiero, te amo both expressions are related to love but there is a difference between them. Te quiero is a very common expression, meaning something superficial, spontaneous, physical attraction mainly. Te amo express a more profound feeling, something that is lasting forever. I recommend listening the song "Amar y Querer" with Jose Jose. Its a very clear and poetic description about the differences between these two concepts. Thank you for your reactions to Mexican music.

TE quiero is a feeling with a lot of affect . TE AMO is something with more spiritual feeling . TE AMO is with all my heart , my mind , my soul , my spirit . This is a big different with the I Love you in English , because in this language you don't find any different

You are right Dominika & Andrei, Juan Gabriel was unique, not just an excellent interpreter but he was an amazing writer of his own songs. The duo with Rocio Durcal was also unique and unrepeatable. It all comes down to the authenticity and honesty of their interpretations because you believe the stories and how he told them in a masterly way. Yes, sometimes we can cry, that means that blood runs through our veins and we feel and not just we hear music. Your reactions are wonderful. Thank you for appreciating this great artist. Music has no borders or boundaries. As a mexican, I feel proud to have great artists as Juan Gabriel. Best Regards

A friend from school when I was 10yo, we lost track for a lot of years and thehe found me at college years, he said he always looked for me, and we keept seeing each other for a fee yeara then he moved for the other side of the country and we dont talk but this song always remind me of him 🤷.

In Spanish there’s different “levels” (maybe is not a good way to say it) of love “me caes bien”, “te aprecio”, “te quiero”, “te adoro”, “ te amo”… you can say “te quiero” to friends or family but “te amo” is deeper, as well you can say it to friends but really close friends, like the friends that you can count on them whatever happens (is not common between guys but it is between girls) but is absolutely common for family, more for parents, your kids or siblings, and sentimental partners when you have long time with her or him. “Te amo” in Mexico represents the purest and deepest kind of love.

Te quiero literally translates to I want you but can also mean I love you. When we say “te quiero mucho” is “I want you a lot” but we really mean I love you a whole bunch so it’s just the language which is why sometimes the lyrics won’t make sense.

Amar goes deeper, it's long lasting, there is no regard for oneself, all you care is the well being for the other person and it is unconditionally given. Querer, is more ephemeral, it's more physicals, infatuation, lust; doesn't last very long. In this case in this song (querer o amar) refers to the love between siblings.
