I imagine many judges start out trying to fix people but a good chunk of people either never learn or dont care and just come back time after time after time for the same crimes or go out and do worse crimes with every excuse and lie in the book and these judges just burn out and dont care anymore
@greenman6141
@greenman6141 11 ай бұрын
@@TrueEnergizerBunnies Burn out must be such a problem in so many really important jobs....law enforcement, courts, mental health care, geriatric nursing, ER....all the jobs where you only come into contact with people who are in terrible shape in one way or another. But they are also such important jobs for exactly that reason. Psychologists who practice therapy are meant to always be seeing therapists themselves and that is one of the reasons. When I had my daughter, she was in ICU for a week & I was kept in hospital too. I couldn't sleep so would spend all night in the ICU ward by my daughter's box (it was a great hospital...if your baby was there, you could come in 24 hours a day..and grand parents could too) , so I talked with the midwives a lot. One, who was in her 50s, said she had spent much of her career in the under 10 years old cancer ward, so she wanted to finish her time working with babies that she would watch leave the hospital alive. She said she needed to retire feeling elated rather than crushed.

There is really nothing to update from the April 24th appearance. So I went skimming through Judge Boyd’s, April 24th hearings, and this mom did come back like she was supposed to. She looked a lot better, I believe she had clean UA screenings and was complying with all the requirements of the court and CPS. Overall, she seemed like she was on the right track, but her appearance was all of a minute to a minute and a half. The reason she was in court in this video was because she was supposed to schedule a jury trial for burglary charges. The judge was concerned with her situation and the safety of her children, and that’s kind of where things started up in this clip. When the mom went back to court on April 24th it was to see if she was complying with what the judge ordered in this video and then she would go from there. The judge saw that she was doing well and just scheduled the moms jury trial. I believe the jury trial is now set for June 12th.

I'm rooting for Mom. I appreciate that she didn't even attempt to lie about the drug test, or the severity of what she'd test positive for, and when the judge said she wanted a call made to CPS, Mom seemed to genuinely agree that it was appropriate. Hopefully, she'll get some services, and, more than anything, some wholesome support, not just 'people from jail.'

Hopefully CPS helps her and just doesn’t rip the kids away causing THEM trauma. CPS is a broken entity and they don’t help people. They do more damage than anything. I work with pregnant moms who are on MAT, doing the right thing and CPS STILL screws with them.

She was definitely getting into the stories about the car and the people she met etc. she saw a bit of kindness in the judge and wanted to see how far she could get. But she was honest about the drugs and I do hope she gets her life turned around for her kids sakes at least.

My best friend from high school was in this very situation, they took her daughters away from her, and gave them to her mother, but that was the wake up she needed. About a year and a half later, she got her children back, now she has a masters degree, she has more children and she is a counselor for drug rehabilitation . She was on the big H.

I work in this system. The worker is who i find the most offensive. We are paid to work. We are paid to help people. Covid and viral services have deeply impacted the services that we offer our families.

I see people like this all the time at their places of residence in the course of my job. It infuriates me to see the way they make their children live in squalor and filth, surrounded by other low-lifes who come and go and setting the worst example of how a person should behave. They set their children up to fail in life and blame everyone and everything but themselves.

@Jazmyn Brown oh they do. I was grateful CPS got involved, and they helped me when I couldn't get myself to. I desperately wanted the help but couldn't get my foot in the door. Cps changed my life for good. I will always be grateful for them. They gave my children's father the same options, same treatment, same everything yet he didn't take it. He was gone in and out of the kids lives for 10 years and now is demanding to get "his kids" like he wasn't absent this entire time.

Thanks for saying you'll follow up---too many of these court KZfaqrs just plop down a video & don't do the work to see it through. I think it's super important for those of us who had the gift of a stable childhood w/ good role models, to see how so many of these people simply have no coping skills; as the judge said, things happen in everyone's life, it's how you cope that matters, & that's what drug addicts need, is coping skills, first with a mentor or in treatment, then by themselves. You need to learn to talk yourself down from the edge of the roof.
