The Warlord Games Judge Dredd: I AM THE LAW Starter Set features a three game series to get you acclimatized to the rules. Starting off, a veteran Street Judge surprises a group of the High Rollers gang as they're dealing Zizzz on the streets of Big Meg as Jay and I re familiarize ourselves with the rules.

Great to see this fantastic game being played. Check a few rules before the next game: when you fail to put the chip back in the bag you're pinned; not sure why you roll a d6 for damage, the damage is simply the unblocked damage dice to a max of 3 (and don't forget that 0 damage is still a stunned marker); when you hunker down you cannot remove your last injury. Love this game and looking forward to playing thw Block War expansion. Bring some fatties onto the table for the next battle report please!

Also you need just one 2000ad result when dodging, not the amount of hits rolled

Great to see a video of this game, but there were some rules that you got wrong. 1) If you take hits (not damage) equal to or greater than a model's Cool, that model is Pinned. 2) For damage, you roll dice equal to the power of the attack then deduct the number of successful Resist rolls from the number of successful damage rolls. If exactly zero hits get through (successful damage = successful Resist), the target model takes a Stun. 3) When rolling to return a Star chip to the bag, if it's the final chip you deduct 2 from your Cool for that roll.

Just listened to Ash and Jay's commentary. I agree that the Stallone JD is actually very much 2000AD style except for Sly taking off his helmet. I'm wondering if, in 2023, somebody would CGI the helmet back on and "fix" the movie.

Awesome game !!! Haven't tried it yet, but we are playing Strontium Dog, which has the exact same rules, only the characters are from a different 2000AD comic ... You forgot some rules, as people already mentioned, but still great to see a battle report for this great game !!! Not sure where you got rolling D6 for damage from ... Must be from some other game ...

Hi Ash and Jay - great video. I have a rules question though - for determining the power of the shot, why are you rolling an additional D6? I can’t find it in the rule book (although it does make it super deadly!)

I thought the bridge was meant to to be elevated? I could see how you moved off it at either end, but not how you teleported back onto it with your hunker-down free move 🤷‍♂️

That activation mechanic seems easy to game. The tokens are different shapes and sizes. Should have been dice.

They're not as different as they look. The basic size and shape is the same it's just the star imprint which is different, and even though it's got depth to it I didn't notice a difference when I was fishing them out.
