I love this woman. How refreshing to hear someone going a 'stand-up' routine without profanity every second word! Her poems are equally good and very funny. Most other comedians' routine would be half as long if they omitted the vulgarity. Well done Mrs. Ayres! Please keep your stories coming.

Sounds like quite a few families were the butt of The Women's Weekly's sense of humour. I saw her perform in Hobart, Tasmania when she toured there. I was amazed at her ability to remember her stories as well as poems for over an hour. I hadn't realised she was such a gifted raconteur. This was maybe about 2009. I never heard about this swim suit though.

Born in '47, I had a green one. What a nightmare. Brighton beach was bad enough with trying to walk on those pebbles and then to suffer the indignity and pain in the feet of having to stagger back up with me crutch round me knees and the extra weight of half the English Channel hanging off me skinny little shoulders. They were the days. :-)
