Those relays on the board fail at times, you can pull em off and check the board for power, and the relay for operation and continuity.

Ususlly the BCM isnt the issue itself. The hot surface ignition or connectors ate usually the culprit for this problem.also the SiN variety are far more reliable than the SiC type in my experience. ❤

Before doing anything trace wires and piping. If an average person saw this trying to troubleshoot all they will see is connect wire open valve without knowing what it does

This video is an example of why companies need maintenance. Reactivate maintenance has you busting your brain with the customer looking at you like you can fix it. Like bro what part did you play in all these fuck ups at once? As techs, we don't know every damn unit in existence. We just know how to troubleshoot. JMT = GDT(GOD DAMN TECHNICIAN)💪🏾

This was weird to me, He was checking the voltages to the ignition assembly and was getting nothing until he checked inside the wire nut and found 120. Then he instantly went to trying a new ignition that worked? How do we know the old one was probably fine and the bad connections and/or wire nut connection was no good? Then we didn't troubleshoot if maybe a relay on the old control board for the gas valve may have been faulty. We just simply tried another board this guy happened to have. No real troubleshooting down to a true diagnosis really took place here. Maybe the HSI is fine and just changes its resistance and amps with time from the excessive heat it generates. I would imagine any older HSI that has gone off/on a whole bunch of times will be different from brand new. I would have checked to see it glow; Then you know the gas valve isn't turning on.

Just take out the hot surface igniter they're very easy to tell if they're cracked you see you white markings around the crack

you should always be able to grab one off the manufacturer. around 60 ohms is what I get normally.

Hydronic boilers circulate water with a pump. Steam boilers circulate steam at a very low pressure
