► This is the start of a new project here on my channel. I've been maintaining the Kinderhospiz Bärenherz aquarium now for 5 years completely free of charge and it has gone through several different layouts. Each rescape has been supported by product donations from different brands and I have volunteered my working time to set up and maintain it.

I don't want to go too deep about the Bärenherz organisation, just very quick: It helps very sick kids and their families and relies on donations and support. Years back I wanted to start a goodwill project and have found this organisation (it's not that easy though, to find one that will accept an aquarium as a donation..) and ever since I maintained their display aquarium. The kids love it and it feels great to make their days a little bit brighter and allow their parents to enjoy a moment of peace and calm.

In this video, I take down the recent layout and catch all the fish shrimps and snails. A completely new aquarium is on the way and the setup process of it I will show you in later videos.

Hi Jurijs , great tear down video. Your tip on leaving the fish until the very end makes sense ( after me commenting negatively on one of your other vlogs a while ago,remember!!). Nice to see someone doing something for free for a kids home ,good on you!. It will be great to see the new layout which i think should be a classic nature aquarium with lots of colour and movement for the children to enjoy. Some larger fish as well, Gourami’s or Angels perhaps. Don’t keep us waiting too long for the next episode. All the best,Martin

I also maintain 2 tanks on the childeren department of a hospital in Holland, almelo and I was so inspired when the childeren where laying in their beds, in front of the first tank (malawi tank) that I wanted to show my passion: planted tanks! They forget that they are in a hospital and so many questions when I am around... I love it when they enjoy the tanks and just be one with nature for just a while. LOVE IT

It being a childrens hospital you need to a scape with lots of textures and colours that will give the kids an opportunity to explore with their eyes. Colourful and busy fish can be added as an additional feature.

Excellent Jurijs, I know its for a kids hospital and if they get to see the tank, scape it in a way that reminds them a scenery from a movie? Lion King or other? (you can even add the lion on the top of the rock!) Amazing project, well done! 😁

Great video and awesome advice for breaking down a tank. And that's really cool that you maintain a tank for a children's hospital free of charge, I can't think of a better place for a beautiful and peaceful aquascape to reside. Awesome that you do this for the children and their families :-) As you are time limited, a nice concave Nature style using Manzanita, Frodo stone or Dragon stone, lots of epiphyte plants, dwarf crypts, some moss, I like Fissidens fontanus for the colour and shape. What ever you decide to use I know it will look stunning.

Great video Jurijs. The old tank looks like a Juwel Rio, saw a good idea in the cabinet. Using egg shell foam to minimise the equipment noise, I might do the same.

Great video, Jurijs, I like that you’re making it into a series, but please don’t release them a week at a time, I can’t wait that long! Exciting that you’ll be working with the new Oase tank, is it one with internal inlet/outlets? I’m interested to see how these connect up to your bio master beneath. I reckon you should go for another full-on nature aquarium layout-the kids will love the details, colours and textures it gives, but perhaps a low maintenance version with slow growing plants and epiphytes, so you don’t have to trim it every week?!!! One question: do you compost any waste plants and aquasoil? Cheers, mate keep up the great work! 👍🏼💚

For the hard water Stains and Top part of the aquarium i always use a bit of PH minus on a sponge like you used it in the Video, eats up the stains with no effort at all.. There is also little impact on the water with the little quantity used on the sponge..

An iwagumi layout would be nice, since the previous scape is forest style.

ghost wood with some sort of very textured stone may be a nice scape, never seen a pro aquascaper use ghost wood. I think a forest style scape with Malaysian driftwood is another idea.

Hier mein Amateur Tipp an den Profi (also auch ein Art "Pro-Tipp") ;) Wasserreste aber auch Bodengrund (Soil und Sand) lassen sich sehr gut mit einem Kunstoffkehrblech mit Gummilippe entfernen, insbesondere wenn man das Aquarium leicht schräg gestellt hat (ein/zwei Bücher unter eine Seite des Aquariums legen). Durch die Gummilippe ist es nicht möglich so viel Druck aufzubauen, dass scharfkantige Sandreste die Seitenscheiben verkratzen, wenn man das Blech daran hochzieht.

Cyano smells like a forest ground. Aqua soil gives loads of mud when tear down the tank. I like these videos, I sometimes think that the tanks of aquascapers always look perfect.

Cyano bacteria smells like mulching leaves, it's the same bacteria you find in the forest floor :)

what you do with the old aquarium?destroy it or put it aside for cleaning and re use it for new aquascape again.

hi jurijs and i m big fan of green aqua channel.i watch watch every video which the green aqua channel.and my question is that.i m facing green hair alge problem in my planted tank. I run pressured co2 and doing sechem micro and macro nutrients.n and not using ro water .plz reply. and bro my English not so good at all ,that's why I m hesitate.

Also ich finde schon das deine Methode die Fische rauszuholen etwas "hardcore" ist, aber naja du kommst ja trotzdem zum Ziel.... bin da eher so fürs sanfte rauskeschern bei halben Wasserstand und dann mit etwas großem (zb eine Kunstoffscheibe) den Schwimmbereich zu verkleinern, bis die Fischies nicht mehr entkomen können.

poor shrimps haha I am sorry but i don't agree with this method of leaving the fish for last... Plus it's so much work for nothing, while you could have just picked them earlier while swimming around.
