Turns out the ritual that Damian Daark performed on Robin didn't give him any powers or anything, it just summoned a bandana from the netherworld. It was late, all the stores were closed, and Daark didn't want to wait a day just to run out and pick up a bandana.

I don’t know how “late” this episode is, but the new Stan Lee documentary comes out on Disney+ Friday. Therefore this episode landed perfectly and is not late at all 😊

I've got to say, that "robin" that keeps showing up really looks a lot more like a cardinal.

The choice to include Robin in the Just Imagine series is interesting, considering that Stan usually likened the practice of kid sidekicks to child endangerment. Maybe this Robin's "edgy loner" persona was his way of subverting that?

Gotta admit its a little surprising to see JISL Robin given how all the others have been the big standalones and not any of the ajacent family members. Makes me bummed we cant see Stan's take on some of the other stuff like Nightwing, Supergirl, or the other colored Lanterns.

You know, I'll give the Gang behind the "Just Imagine...." Series credit, it was a very interesting take on the DC Universe. Stan took a bunch of old and little known DC Characters and made them into a very neat supporting cast and a really Decent Rogue's Gallery got the Big Named Heroes he was messing with(fer instance: Handz was originally a Villain for The Original Cowboy Vigilante). It's just kinda sad that some of Stan's ideas didn't hit the mark he was looking for(Robin here, for example)....

I get that Robin finally realizing how much of his life was him getting used and tossed around like a puppet in a community ventriloquism class might make him reluctant to trust other people, but I wonder if the execution could have been handled better. Like, maybe he and Batman could set up a line of communication to trade info. Just as an example.

Suddenly Damien Darhk being a cult leader with magic powers in the Arrowverse makes sense. They got the idea from the Just Imagine Stan Lee universe and merged him with Dominic Darrk. Kinda explains why Arrow season 4 was...weird and why he was more fitting for Legends of Tomorrow. Wonder if Stan Lee was consulted or at least given any royalties for it, along with Devin Grayson, Mark Buckingham, and Joe Kubert.

I patiently await the day likara opens an episode with "hey guys, i got sparkington revived" while looking baffled.

And then Robin became like half a dozen heroes later on the line. Even became Atom… and in 2022 they confirmed that’s still canon.

Classic Bucky Barnes was pretty much the "Robin the Boy Wonder" in the Marvel Universe.

Kind of weird that this version of Robin is more in line of Jason Todd. An orphan who lived in an orphanage that is run by an evil organization, had a run-in with Batman while he was committing a crime, has a chip on his shoulder due to his upbringing, and became vigilante to separate himself from Batman.

So Stan Lee's Robin is basically Kung Fury, neat.

I remember Stan Lee stating that Comic Book should be all one word, so it's not surprising to see it written as such in a dialog balloon.

Another change for Salden's origin I think should be regarding his motivation. Instead of merely fighting against crime, poverty, war, et cetera, purely to advance Earth's space technology and capabilities so he may eventually return to his homeworld, he remembers Lyella's lifeless body and his inability to arrive home in time and thus save her from Gundor Gorrok. He will fight for the defenseless and weak to prevent others from experiencing his pain, trauma and grief, similarly to the motivations of characters such as Batman and Spider-Man, who also lost loved ones to morally reprehensible and heartless foes. Also, have some panels with him thinking about her actively via thought balloons, especially since Stan Lee himself loved using thought balloons to convey a character's own feelings, especially Spider-Man! After Salden snuggles himself in the ransom payment to terrorists who kidnapped the president of China, all per his proposed plan to the Pentagon, and he sees Gorrok holding Lois Lane hostage, he recalls the helplessness he felt regarding his inability to save his beloved Lyella. As soon he is chained up and Gorrok makes the mistake of taunting and mocking Salden by mentioning Lyella, Salden recalls his promise to defend those with no means of protecting themselves, and this provides him with the motivation to break the chains and ultimately defeat Gorrok. This gives Salden a far less selfish motivation beyond wanting to return to his home planet, and ensuring that Lyella's death actually has some level of importance and overall significance to the story.
