This weeks video is filled with a very wide variety of restoration techniques from painting all the way through to electroplating to get all the parts required to build the frame back up into a rolling chassis.
The first job was to sort out the stand which was quite beaten up. To make things a little easier on the blaster i first burned off the powder coat which revealed a lot of rust. After blasting the it was heated and straightened out and any cracks welded up then coated with Hydrate 80.
The parts were then painted black with a high gloss extremely durable 2k paint.
While the paint was curing i set about electroplating all of the other bits and pieces.
Then it was just a case of starting the build up. Unfortunately i wasn't able to get the rear end on in the video due to a shipping problem with bushes and new shocks. :(
A little more info below if this is your first time watching the C90 restoration.
The item in question is a 1979 Honda C90 motorcycle , scooter, moped or whatever else you want to class it as lol. It was a barn find that has been sitting off the road for years and when i got the chance to buy it i snapped it up.
From the initial inspection it didn't look to bad but tearing it down uncovered a series of areas that will need rectification work if i want to get this back to factory fresh.
The plan is to go thorough the bike methodically restoring, replacing and fabricating as need be to make this one of the best restored c90's out there and as you can probably tell from my other videos the finish will be second to none ;)
so sit back relax and enjoy a series of videos documenting the full restoration of the bike from start to finish.
If you like what you see and have any ideas for the channel or would even like to donate something to restore to the channel please get in touch. :)
And as usual if you liked the video please like share and subscribe and help the channel grow.

Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.

I vote for the Sketchy Bench Grinder restoration :)Hats off to you sir, top quality work on such a forgotten bike, that one will live on for a long time now, unlike most of them that ended up being stripped and mud scrambled.

Something interesting every video. This week I was amazed by the zinc plating of the bolts and brackets. Buying too many new parts would be a repair. Re-plating original bolts, that's a restoration! Thanks.

Im so pleased to see you doing a C90. I have owned two myself. The first one I got knocked off and nearly lost my foot. The frame was bent so badly it had to be written off. The second one was stolen. We found 3 kids riding it around on the field near my home. They had stripped it to the bare bones. We called the Police but by the time they got there, the little shits had gone. I was gutted.

It’s coming along brilliantly! Can’t wait to see the finished result. Makes me feel a bit guilty seeing this one lovingly restored when as a kid we used to buy clapped out ones from and old bloke who sold them from £5 to £15 depending on the state. We would then get them running only to destroy them in some manner like jumping them off a big ramp, doing burnouts until it went bang or seeing just how many of us could fit on one and ride it. This was about 1987 I would like to say I am older and wiser now but sadly only the first bit is true. 😂
