In this video I start the engine wiring harness for the K24. This is a complex project that will have many in's and out's. There will be backtracking and trial and error as I navigate the route I want to go. This will end up being a multiple part Vlog that I will break up with more interesting content as I go.

Thanks for the compliment! I appreciate the support. If it helps, I will be going a different route with this particular project. It needs to be more simple now. The looming and detail will be the same but with OE connectors. It may be something you’d be interested in as it won’t be full milspec and will be something more aimed at street cars. Stay tuned man 🤘🏻also if you ever need help I’m happy to assist how I can!

Good stuff! Say, could you share some information on how to wire the VTEC oil control and VTEC solenoid? I know they each have 2 wires, one should go to ECU and the other is 12 switched?

100% man! Helping people is why I do this. So to answer your question, the VTEC Oil control i believe you are referring to the “rocker arm oil pressure switch” on the VTEC spool valve assembly? In which case Pin 1 (BLU/BLK) goes to PCM B11. Pin 2 (BRN/YEL) goes to the engine harness ground G101. Your VTS or “VTEC Solenoid” Pin 2 (GRN/YEL) goes to PCM B6. Pin 1 (BLK) goes to the engine harness ground G101. While we’re at it, just to cover all the bases… your VTC for camshaft phase control. Pin 2 (BLU/WHT) goes to PCM B1. Pin 1 (BLK) goes to the engine harness ground G101. There’s a little more to it but those items will work just fine wired like that.

@@berttnotbought804 Thanks a lot man! So if I understand correctly both the oil control solenoid and the VTS get one ECU wire and one Egnd wire. Correct?

Yep! Very simple circuits. It’s important to ground them the same place as the engine harness.

Is there a plug and play harness? I have a 1989 CRX with a K24A2 and 6 speed LSD. I need an engine and conversion harness. My Kpro is a PRB.

Sorry for the late reply. I would check the common swap sites like hybrid racing for a conversion harness. As far as your engine harness goes it should just be the OE harness to that engine then you’ll need the swap harness to your chassis. I’m not very familiar with K swapping a CRX. But if you find the parts to get it running you’ll have a real animal on your hands even with a stock engine. 😂🤘🏻

@@berttnotbought804 Dude I love a Fury, pictures?!! People see me drive a Honda and assume I'm just a ricer. I just love cars, new and old. I like to show appreciation for even a rust bucket driving down the road. My Roadrunner drives but I'm currently doing a lot of sanding on the body, and other smaller stuff. (Finances permitting 😂)

does the k24 have two temp sensors like older hondas like one for guage and one for ecu or does k24 just use one temp sensor for guage and ecu? where can i find info on what sensor does what and where its wired up to?im trying to help a friend with k24eg and he needs coolant temp sensor wired up which is vague if there are more then one sensor.their should be a sensor for guage/ecu and fans right?he has a hose adapter i beleive

The K series only have the ECT1 on the engine (drivers side rear of the head. To get signal to the thermometer on the combi meter you need to get the fitting from Hybrid racing or KTuned that replaces the high idle valve with a 1/8” BSPT fitting for the early models thermistor.

I am running an aftermarket PCM that will have provisions to control a DBW throttle. For now it will be the OE K24 throttle, but when I build this engine I plan to run an LS 90mm.

@@daskamu yes. I have not gotten to that point yet. But I believe I will need APPS from an earlier model like a 2003 accord. One that has a cable and puts the APPS under the hood. I will be sure to make a video on it, whether it works or not.
