Love this - I have a commission with trees in it and I might use this idea - I've painted trees like this before but this reminded me to use this approach with a painting I've been dreading. Also, I found this video by looking in my analytics and it was listed as what my audience was watching - I thought you might find that interesting. I used this straw method with my students when I was teaching. They loved it!! I still use it sometimes with straws of various sizes.

I did alcohol ink straw technique and it was fun as well. I think that sponging on trees would be fun. It’s all about fun and as Karen says experimenting.

I love blowing paint about. I find It's a great way to start a new sketch book. It makes that first page less intimidating, and that first page can be anything it wants to be.

Thanks Karen, not just for this video, but also for the many others I’ve watched. I notice that you tend to favor using yellow ochre rather than raw sienna. Is there a particular reason for this?
