Karyn killed it with the Running Man, Roger Rabbit, The Alf, and all the other cool dances of the 80’s. Dancing has to be the secret to the fountain of youth. I saw her show a few weeks ago and she looks and sounds great.

Dude.... Y'all need to stop throwing the word "underrated" out like if people don't know or respect these artists. Karyn was one of the IT girls of her time. NOBODY underrated her. Just because she isn't Whitney or Mariah doesn't make her underrated. And no, Janet and Karyn are not the same so go somewhere with that "two words" nonsense.

@@JudyGurlThat is the per usual analysis on it, but it really is "The Sophomore." She left Face and Reid for Jam and Lewis to ride the tail end of the Rhythm Nation wave....which subsequently gave time to devote to another budding young songstress....named Toni Braxton. Karyn was an in-between' (what I call-Not quite Whitney, but definitely better than Janet). She could have competed with them if she kept the consistent formula. It's never a good idea to change your sound so abrupt after only one album. Michael struck gold with Off the Wall, he didn't take that risk on Thriller. Face and Reid constructed the blueprint of Bobby Brown and Karyn White in 88.' If you listen to Don't Be Cruel' and Karyn White' back to back, you will notice they likely were recorded around the same time. Both of those projects were their biggest success.

This was a top 6 smash back in '88 and #1 on the dance charts. Still gets fairly good air time on the R&B/old school stations. Still has the beats to make you dance 18 years later. :)

Damn this cut reminds me of being stationed at ft.ord california back in 1988. My roommate from virginia would have his stereo system blasting in the room with this cut on as we were getting suited & booted to hit the club. Man those were the days. Music back then had so much substance,creativity,passion,soul,vibe,funk ect. I just don't see or hear any of this in today's music. I know times change & so do people,but we old schoolers know there is a BIG difference. I wish we can all go back.

This was the very first music video whose dance moves I tried to imitate at the age of 11. LOL I tried to dress fancy too. :-) Oh wow, this one really brings back such fun memories! I really began to admire Karyn White musically from that point on and I have to say her 1989 songs were just as good as those from her follow-up album in 1991. This was one of the earliest Karyn White songs though I really liked. :-) #KARYNWHITESECRETRENDEZVOUS
