For a lady that was blown up by a close range bomb, Mariko-sama sure looks good... "Live fast, die young, and leave a beautiful corpse."

no doubt yabushigi had it coming, but it's a little sad seeing how he feels remorse for mariko's death that he caused.

Was definitely a “the tables have turned” for both Blackthorne and Yabushige. Episode 1 - Blackthorne begs Yabushige for his and men’s life. Episode 10 - Yabushige begs Blackthorne to save his life.

This proves that man does not need arty shells, guns, RPGs, or tanks firing to develop PTSD, just the horrors of war are enough. No matter how primitive war may be, it shocks even the strongest of souls.

Friend of mine who works on these matters told me that in his experience physical exhaustion often preceeds depression. Specialy sleep deprivation if i understood correctly. This makes me think that anything that constantly prevents you from sleeping will drive you crazy eventualy. Like overly active Fight-or-Flight reflex. It will help you if you keep getting in danger but if you can't get down from the adrenaline rush then it will cause chronic insomnia and everything else that comes with it. I'm quessing this is common reason for stage artists to lose their minds if you manage to ignore the substance abuse that usualy comes along.

Was it PTSD or actually brain damage from the explosion?
@lightdark416127 күн бұрын
@@ignas49 nah its just PTSD, guy still has his chops when talking to Toaranaga later.
@lightdark416127 күн бұрын
@@tommiturmiola3682 I think here its not physical but mental breakdown from all the constant conflict, and he finally breaks. A certain sleep deprivation experiment in the past drove people mad.
@tommiturmiola368226 күн бұрын
@@lightdark4161 I consider sleep deprivation as physical stress. This leads to mental fatigue and so on. Not that this is realy important if we are still talking about fictional character.

I dont think mariko getting yeeted in that explosion and drop dead was something he expected. Dude just tried to avoid being killed , i understand the man . Remember how jn the forst episode he was saved by the rope and he climbed up , cant believe his end was at the same cliff anf he gets chopped down the cliff again. So well written this show was. A work of an art
@N0Xa880iUL28 күн бұрын
Same cliff?
@smartideas-pedro169025 күн бұрын
I don't think its the same cliff but still, very well written. Full circle there. Also, when Omi asks Blackthorn to handle his sword and Gun to speak with Toronaga, it reminds us of when Blackthorn didn't want to earlier in the show.
@kiraflash459617 күн бұрын
Didn't Toranaga want her to die in Osaka anyway? To sabotage Ishido?
@grainsupply756311 күн бұрын
Why would he feel guilty? The man never felt any guilt and then all of the sudden starting to feel guilt over someone who is not even close to him. This is the weak spot of the story imho.

Fact: He boiled a man alive just for lulz and never felt any guilt about it
